You're not supposed to understand her at all she'll dump her entire backstory at the ending leave the thread if care about the plot twists

I guess Kojima was trying to be "subversive" by making the "Damsel in distress" the villain in the end. Except it didn't work because Amelie never comes off like a damsel and distress and from the very beginning seems like some weird ethereal god woman

Humans were testing with the beaches and fucked up the whole world in the process and they apparently truned Amelie into a ticking nuclear bomb while Bridget is working with her to fulfil that process. Everything they did and you do from bridge babies to connecting the chrial network is speeding up the extinction because Amelie is bored. Sam convinces her at the end that humans are worth getting bored for so she sends him and revives BB for him just like how Sam was revived when Cliff was murdered.

It's literally a human personification of a predetermined extinction event. I'm not talking about one of the four horsemen, or "The end of human life personified", those both overthink it too much. She's basically a macguffin, just look past it.

But I thought Bridget and Amelie are the same person/thing. Like Amelie was just a made up persona of the EE and Bridget too
Every eon or whatever an EE is born into the major species to cause an extinction event
In a "life finds a way" action life evolved to resemble EEs true form more and more until humans which basically look exactly the same plus can reach out and communicate.
This messed her up because for the first time an EE had emotional connections to the species it was killing.
She went schizo couldn't make up her mind and went back and forth between her inherent nature and the attachment to people
Also she has a real world body and a spirit on the beach that pretend to be different people
