You get the state government to bankroll a Supportive Living Service to send a guy out 3-4 times a week to hang out and placate your kid while you try and live your life as best you can.
Then when you die they will either live in the decaying family home while their SLS worker keeps them from rotting completely, or they are placed in a group home and that solves that.

I went to school with a kid like this.
He had a handler that had to listen to him scream about Pokemon and act as a physical barrier to bullies.
Looked absolutely dead inside.
Do those jobs pay a lot?
