I was actually planning on playing Argostars because it would be funny.
That said, consider slotting in Azalea Temperance. It's only SR and it's a pretty good card for the deck, even more so if you're only looking to fill up some space and have nothing else to slot in. You can't go wrong with Barricadeborg either.
I do recommend however playing a second Galatea-i. It's super good to have for longer games. A second Ding is nice but I've never been in a game where it feels necessary, even on more drawn out ones.

What handtraps are good this format? It's pretty tough to want to commit to anything when Ryzeal, Mitsurugi, and Maliss all seem to give no fucks about the cards that out the other. Droll is trash against Maliss and Ryzeal, Fuwa sucks dick against Mitsu and arguably even Maliss, Purulia sucks dick against Maliss and everything off-meta, Meowls does barely anything against Ryzeal and Mitsu can play into it okay, Lancea does absolutely nothing against Ryzeal and Mitsu. And it's not like these cards need to be silver bullets, but they just do fucking nothing. Like what do you even play except Impulse if you can?

If there's one thing I've learned from posting in these threads, MD faggots have zero idea what the fuck they're talking about. Droll is fucking ass against Ryzeal even without Star. It's good against Mitsu Ryzeal, but the regular Ryzeal board is already strong enough and you sequence Ryzeal shit before Mitsu and check for Droll before you commit to Feral Imps or anything that starts your Mitsu lines. So is Droll worth playing over Purulia if you have to choose between the two? Probably not. Plus, Droll isn't good into Fiendsmith cards either, people are still playing that. It's also giga-ass against Orcust if you want to factor that into overall common matchups.

There's only one ritual spell in the game worth playing at more than 2, and even playing it at 3 is iffy so it's not clear whether you'd want to play this.
It's dumb because it's a card just waiting to be broken the moment they make a great ritual spell but as it is it's not a big deal.

I don't know how Mitsu Ryzeal works, but Mitsu Orcust are simply two completely different archetypes glued to each other with ED monsters that allow them to bridge to each other, with the main advantage that both decks are DARK, so you can also play Dominus Impulse with little to no trouble. If you only start with Orcust, you can combo into two LV4s to summon King of the Feral Imps and search Habakiri, and if you only start with Mitsurugi, you can use Habakiri and a second body to summon Knightmare Phoenix, then Knightmare Mermaid who summons Orcust Knightmare from deck.

Orcust by itself is fun, but Mitsu Orcust is obviously yet another deck that has an overpowered engine plastered to it so it can compete with other decks also having said overpowered engine plastered on them.

Mitsurugi Ryzeal does the same thing basically. You want to do your mitsurugi plays first to take advatange of the remaining dudes on the board to xyz a rank 8 or make an I:P, then use the other two level 4s to make duo drive and set your ryzeal plays.
If you don't open any mitsu cards you can do your regular ryzeal combo (ext>sword>ice>star>duo drive) and use the remaining two bodies to make a king of the feral imps and pivot into mitsurugi.

The thing I love about Yugioh that I can't find in any other game (not just card game) is that it keeps things "the same".

It's an eternal format, its art styles aren't radically different from each other, they never did major collabs (like the shitfest in MTG), and the card layout never changed since it went worldwide (except for pends, which it wants to put behind).
Maybe I'm an autist and a doomposter, but I don't want this "overframe" shit in this game. It signals that they're willing to break conventions they've established, which is the biggest appeal yugioh has for me.

I don't like it either. The cards have a classic feel thanks to the uniformity and refusal to update the frame. Admittedly some cards, particularly links already ruin this, but I like the simple cards remaining simple. The good news is that at there's no way they mess with the text boxes since they have so much more text than like a Pokemon card, so they're restrained a bit in how far they can go. It sounds like these will still have the frame and all rather than be full full-arts, just part of the art will pop out.

Anything related to the Quarter Century Anniversary you can still get your hands on. I highly recommend the Trinity Box if you can get your hands on it, you get a cool box of Dragonmaids, Orcust or P.U.N.K. with some accessories and the cards themselves have their own emblems printed in the middle of the text box, with one of them being a Quarter Century Secret Rare with the 25th anniversary logo instead.
