Using the mod that lets you pick people up at any time instead of just when they are downed is cheating and I am tired of just watching it happen.

I used to do that, often just because I wanted to be le hero, but as of a few weeks now I try to avoid doing it unless the circumstances are extreme.
And yes, in a lot of cases, it really is cheating. A light kind of cheating to be frank, but still.

That all said, the game itself has problems that logically shouldn't be present.
Why does the passed out scout instantly drop after getting a single tick of stam? Why is it sometimes better to just straight up hurt a scout, or not heal them, so you can carry them?
I think this could be easily fixed, by making it so if a scout has less than, let's say, 25% stamina, you can carry them. Boom, problems solved.
Maybe also just make the scouts heavier, or tweak some other values just to make having a scout on their feet, a waaay better option.

Tied to to their hunger meter. The hungrier they are the less they weight, but if they are pretty full and are downed primarily due to health damage then they should weigh a ton.

Day 2 of working on the soulmates mod. Wrote a bunch of code today that should in theory cover all that I want the mod to do. None of it is tested.

lolno. You know Rain World? That Unity game where creatures move in a procedural way and are composed by simple geometries? The scouts models are made in a very similar way but in 3D.
The left hand alone are 5 or 6 different specific models instead of just being one and rigged, probably made so for the heavy use of physics in the gameplay and also the most possible cause of bad framerates in lobbies above 12 players.
Without opening the content files this is the most noticeable when bundling up in the photobooth, you can see often misaligned parts, specially hats and torsos

As cool as an idea that is there is no way the Swedish code will be able to handle it. They can't even deallocate dead bodies properly, there is no way then can make a scout become an item and then back into a scout again. The code just couldn't handle it.

Depends on the class. I've only played 2 games using the mod but from my observations:

What do we think of AggroCrab new game? I tried the Demo.
>gameplay is divided into "Certificates", each of which features a new type of box with its own gimmick. Each Cert is a collection of 5 Shifts in the same level.
>The "Cert" acts as a base gameplay area for even more extra modifiers (periodic fire, lava, meteors, etc.)
>After each Shift, you go back to lobby to buy upgrades.
>You can choose your own "Hazard" which lasts for X upcoming Shifts.
>Upgrades are gone after each new Cert.
So, how do these aspects affect each other?
For example:

I played a bit. Its closest companion is probably Overcooked.
Unfortunately, I didn't find it as compelling or satisfying as Overcooked. Sorting, moving and stacking boxes that all look and behave more or less the same just isn't as interesting as cooking and stacking a plate of food.
Now, I only played a bit, and this is only the demo, but in its core, I just can't help but compare it and find it lacking.

Now the lobby adds a strategic level to the game, something Overcooked simply has next to none of, and the movement in this game feels better and is deeper, and I think with enough skill you can really master it to gain a significant advantage.
We'll see when the game comes out, if the movement plus the few rogue-lite mechanics are enough to make the boring box-moving interesting, and if it will give it staying power.
