1: you can just ignore it
2: it gives the game some difficulty unlike every other sandbox game

You aren't supposed to finish the story on your first run. Wish I had known that.

is it a sandbox game ? or is it a time attack game within a sandbox ?
>>723181307
but you very easily can even without routing. DR1 if you want all (possible) survivors and best ending it takes some routing, DR2 onwards you can all survivors + best ending on your first time through easily

I did all the survivors and missions and all photo collectibles easily on my first run in dr1 when the pc port came out, even though my last time i played it was on 360 back when it first released. (I still remembered a shitton of stuff)

You can but you'll definitely have to reload some sections and you don't have time to just dick around and have fun. It's much better to fail the story until you're leveled up.

The "dick around and have fun" just means mindlessly killing zombies for no gain

It means exploring, leveling up, picking up all the wacky stuff, etc - what makes the game good.
I cucked myself out of a good experience by running after the timer with my weak character. Shame.

Maybe we're different. I never found use for a shitton of weapons like hats and hunk of meat and hockey sticks etc. But yeah rushing for missions at low level is def not the right way to play it
I did everything there was to do on my first run when the pc port came out and i still only reached lvl 42. Had to speed level through killing soldiers on 72 hr mode

what nobody will tell you is dead rising is secretly a rogue lite, you're meant to play it through many times that's why you keep your level, stats, and pp when you die and the game isn't terribly long. each playthrough is better than the previous because you're smarter, stronger, faster, aware of the map and shortcuts, and ultimately you'll be waiting out the clock rather than fearing it.

I hope they do because the PC version of Off The Record and DR2 are optimized like fat dogshit and they have the opportunity to re-implement the Case 0 and Case West content

its actually really easy to finish it the first time. all you have to do is go down to the parking garage early and go into the room where the black guy will die and pick up the key. then during the truck bomb mission you don't take a car down there, you just use the keys to enter the garage at exactly the right places and diffuse them before carlito can even get close to you with the van. you can go early in day 1 and miss out on zero cases.

I went to Nexus for the Dead Rising Remake mods, hoping that someone took all the faggot modern audience shit out of the game and made it more like the original, sorted by popularity, and the most popular shit is all stuff to make yourself and NPCs invincible, give any gun you pick up infinite ammo, and make everything have infinite durability. PC players are notoriously shit at basically anything involving even a modicum of skill.

I think it’s because those two are essentially their own seperate games with their own survivors, rules, missions and even combo weapons.
At most, they could’ve done what MGS2 did where you are given the option of whether to play all 3 games as one seamless experience or only play one game seperately and only levels and maybe combo cards carry over

Are you saying the PC version is worse than the console version?
Anonymous No.723192867
>>723192669
It’s probably better than the PS4/Xbone ports but OTR has a lot of jank, and is prone to randomly crashing, and both versions of DR2 suffer from forced fullscreen and not being able to use any other controller besides 360 ones

They made so many random changes in the remaster that take all difficulty out of the game. Throwing a cash register at a psycho shouldn't delete half their HP.
