They are fun on their own and the only problem I have with them is the fomo rewards and reducing the likelihood that some one will make a regular lobby over a festival lobby. On the other hand, MK intermissions make just playing the game with match making feel like a waste of time where the enjoyable part of the race lasts less time than the wait between races.
