Nearly every single unit/hero design in this pile of shite game is stolen asset (inspiration), that's almost impressive how uncreative are some humans .
The art style? Disney pixar productions are horrors beyond human comprehension compared to this.
Gameplay is almost like previous HoMM games, just worse, much worse... with combat system from different franchise... but its playable.
It's first and last time I played it as there is no reason to play this garbage over any other HoMM title.

The only challenge in this game is Mirage which is completely fucked as it adds units to enemy stacks along with x2.5 multiplier to all stats (your stats) and all other boosts (items perks etc.) but I beat it anyway.
Anyway, it gets boring much quicker than any other homm title and fuck them if they plan to put 20 castles to each large map.

I am loving the game so far and can't wait till we get MP mode.

The only thing that's displeased me so far is the fact that necro has a disgustingly strong edge when it comes to the mirage grail.
Just park your vampire stack on top of the enemy lich stack and surround your stack that's under fire with your other stacks.
Then proceed to taunt cheese the shit out of your mirage opponent while dumping out lich revives.
Thus, coming out of the encounter with not just the grail but also next to no losses, not even counting the massive post battle additions to your stacks due to necromancy.

I've only played Shamrock, but you get showered with resources on that map. Are other maps like that too? My feelings are that pacing feels too rushed. There's overabundance of things to pick up on the world map and just press on. This is not how HoM&M3 felt.

I used Twilight to blind his ranged stacks and then I used the magic ability that stopped counterattacks from happening whenever I could.

I gave it about 10 mins before alt-f4ing, will get back to it soon. First impression is that it is hideous to look at, I'm hating this new trend of maximalist art design, it's so hard to look at a screen that has so much shit going on with no restraint. The bases are a mess, so much so that they now rely on drop down menus to navigate.
Worst thing was that the game seemingly has no faith in itself, battles are summarised by default. How is this a tribute to the classics if they don't want you to experience the gameplay?

I enjoy that all factions get hot girls as units. Also, I played Schism on the "single hero forced battle after a month" and I think something got really broken. You get a lot of castles on that map, or at least I did, I had like 5 by the second week. More importantly, you also get a T7 recruit building (just the one that I found) but Schism's unique building doesn't seem to register that actual number of units available in the dwelling, so I got the law that let you do it twice per week and the dwelling recruitment building in each place which let me recruit 2 extra abyssals each week and by the end of the first week I had 29 Abyssal Executors going into the final battle, and, uh, you probably aren't supposed to have that many. It'd probably been possible to have even more if you focused on nothing but those and rushed the law and the building in each castle (also T4 mages guild for town portal so you can actually pick them all up).

Angels are kinda cracked I think, the fact that they get buffs copied onto them leads to some kind of insane stuff you can do (like casting favorable winds onto another ranged stack, and then activating the archers 40% range damage buff which gets copied onto the angels) and can mean they get funny durations on certain buffs (I had a stack of angels with 28 turns of Arina's Chosen). But I think when playing against humans Twilight is just going to assrape you. I've yet to see the AI cast that spell though. Beyond that, their T4 Guard Captains seem good, double strike and decent stats, all three of their ranged units are pretty good (and I do think the double shooters are *probably* better than the sharpshooter variants, despite only have a 20% ranged damage buff rather than 40% because double shooting is so strong). Best spell lore to have at expert rank? So far feels like Nightshade is kind of insane, Twilight and Coup de Grace just fuck shit up and they get mass when maxed out. Maxed Coup de Grace nearly halves the health of all enemy stacks and Twilight just autowins if not dispelled. Daylight buffs are nice, but I don't feel they're as potent as the Nightshade debuffs. Primal feels like it focuses too much on damage spells and they don't do enough to justify using them over stuff like Coup de Grace. I haven't tried focusing on Arcane, but the Doreath Tide that buffs your speed and initiative while lowering the opponent's feels very nice. None of the other arcane spells have stood out for me.

It can't outright shut down ranged stacks like Dungeon's clown hero with inherent twilight spell but it can outright DELETE early game enemies which helps with snowballing.

The most insane part is when you get the 5 specific skills you need to give your hero a subtitle. You may need to deal with getting a bad roll like Scouting (and even those can at least give some semi-useful subskill). But once you do it you can do absurd shit.

Death Knight with 5 Might points will permanently debuff all enemies to do bad luck rolls on all hits. Necromancer with 5 Magic points can use necromancy on EVERY CREATURE, not just the undead. Knights with maxed might can do some thousand pts damage with the focus strike move. I didn't check other classes yet, but those buffs are outright bonkers.

The best part is you can also get combo artifacts with partial combinations. Like for the Power of Dragon Father, having 3 items only gives you +1 on every stat, 5 items blocks debuff spells only, all items will block enemy attack spells too.
And you have shit like that barbarian luck ring, two items, if you get both it's a 100% EXP boost.
Even better, artifact merchants reroll every WEEK now.

from what I can tell everyone can unlock everything, but not every hero can learn anything. all heroes can learn up to level 2, beyond that you need the basic/advanced/earth magic school skills (whatever WoW garbage they put in instead of earth/water/fire/wind). Basic gives you access to level 3, Advanced level 4, Expert level 5.

Spell scrolls can also allow you to learn a magic at whatever level the scroll gives. You can get expert black hole from a scroll without any points in nightshade magic.
Also some spells have "Masterful" levels you can't learn except either by having a hero specializing in that skill, or a super rare artifact that gives you every masterful level spell.

You can only cast Haste and Slow on all units, or Berserk on more than 1 enemy, if you get the rare Masterful versions.

For me, it's Schism demon farming.

For morale and luck modifiers, you just get an arbitrary number, without being able to see WHAT GIVES YOU THE CHANGES IN VALUE.

I already got text placeholders, and your gold count overflows from the screen counter if it gets too high. I can overlook some of these but come on it's like they didn't even play this fucking thing.

I need to try the others but I actually dig Schism a lot so far. I like how their Law buffs and their +2 Knowledge unique building functionally let's any hero function as a spellcaster. I tried like 5 minutes of Temple after the tutorial and I found myself getting bummed out if I got a Warrior hero.

Also their passive bonus troops ability seems cracked

I like Dungeon's units a lot but I don't like the Triumvirate ability which very quickly becomes obsolete
Necropolis is kinda boring
Temple's Ascension mechanic just doesn't really work the way it's intended to (the idea is that it makes the Temple army very difficult to quickly wipe out)

Necro isn't nerfed, necromancy adds units to EVERY STACK, kill 500 tier 1 units and you get extras for tier 1-5. You can even use it to get Vampire Lords, but you have to kill tons of shit for that so not worth it.
I'm 4 months in to Jebus Cross, half the map is uncovered and at least 25% of all neutral stacks are still alive, and I'm rolling with 10k skeletons, 2k doggos, 1k graverobbers and 600 blood liches.

I've played Temple and Dungeon so far. Dungeon stance switch mechanic and units are awesome, exciting to try a bunch of combinations. Temple is ok, but they don't feel that distinct or special. Will give Schism a go next, units look fun too, especially the fat chair guy.

Yes and there's even artifacts that make all your units strike twice or all ranged units ignore penalty, units standing next to them, and shoot twice.

I do not give one fuck, two fucks, red fucks or blue fucks about multiplayer. Heroes is about going on epic single player journeys for me in a world of fantasy and conquering the world.

Hell if there's anything this demo is truly missing, it's all the little story elements the game peppered you with. You pick up an item and it pops into your inventory without a howdoyoudo. There's no little story attached as to how you approached a halfling who was busy cooking his food, but upon seeing you he quickly fled into the nearby woods leaving all his belongings behind; you took Bud Spencer's Bean Cooking Pan, still hot from the fire it was on and placed it in your backpack.
