Why is it that the longer you think about Hollow Knight the better it gets, while the longer you think about Silksong the worse it gets?

I found Hollow Knight to slow and the boss fights not very engaging. The art was amateurish but had its charme. Silksong improved on almost everything and I had way more fun and 100%ed it when I couldn't even get to 90% in HK because it was a slog.
