This is what you, and others need to understand about the Left. It is not a political stance, it is a religious and moral stance, held by people who have the moral comprehension and nuance of a toddler.
The average Leftist exists in a circular argument of moral reasoning: "I am a good person, therefore I only believe in things that are morally good, and the things I believe in are morally good, therefore they make me a morally good person." A Leftists belief of others also follows the same reasoning, "They are morally bad people, therefore everything they believe is morally wrong, and everything they believe is morally wrong, therefore that makes them a morally bad person." There is absolutely no room for nuance, or a recognition that some beliefs and principles are not moral intrinsically.
That is why the Purity Spiral exists. A single transgression, a single "impure" thought, means that the entire person is now morally impure and wrong. This is why Rowling can agree with them on 99.99% of all Leftist beliefs, but she opposes a few aspects of trans ideology that do more to empower predators and put women at risk and she is now morally no different than Satan in their eyes.
It is a belief system held by young children, the profoundly ignorant, and people with high narcissistic tendencies whose egos require constant validation of being good and cannot tolerate nuance because that would imply they are not perfect.
