I live close enough to Manhattan that I'm pretty familiar with the subways and I've seen way weirder shit than this. I once saw a homeless guy holding a live pigeon and he suddenly snapped its neck and started eating it.
You learn to block this out. Can't imagine how it must be to actually live there and see that shit 24/7
