Romhacks of most nintendo properties make nintendo look very bad.
On the other hand, it helps that the chuds don't have to develop the fucking software... but neither does Nintendo in later installments of the same generation, which still inexplicably have no postgame, no hard mode, and 2 new legendary pokemon. The horrible shitty ugly graphics and glitchy ass environment design had to come first I guess.

Honestly I think the innate, hidden core of romhacks is that you CAN make good products out of reused assets if you use them wisely... on top of being a good game, of course.
But there's a reason people have been able to just shit out romhacks like crazy, and it's thanks to asset reuse. I don't know why companies are afraid of it these days and why normie gamers insult them for using it. I would gladly take a Pokemon game that looks as "incredibly average 3D" like XY were as long as it was an amazing game. Graphics do not matter: presentation and aesthetic do.

wow people with no budget or timeframe or restrictions made a mod that appeals to you and a niche group of people, they really showed one of the consistently highest selling franchises that shaped the childhood of millions

are you pretending that if random chuds made a pokemon game and it got released as an aofficial title that it wouldnt sell as well as official gamefreak creations?

Adding more gyms doesn't make the formula different or better. I hate how Pokemon is so repetitive that nobody can think to do it even slightly differently.
>newest update is going to forcibly softlock you if you try and use emulator fast-forward
Literally one of the gayest decisions I've ever heard of any romhack making.

No, you only face four Kahunas.
You're thinking of Totem Pokemon, of which you do in fact fight eight in USUM because they had an extra year of devtime to make an actual trial for Mina, the Fairy Captain.

As long as they make it as gloriously fast as Unbound, by massively streamlining/accelerating animations and the process of conveying information, I literally won't even mind.
Besides, they disable anti-speedup for Grindhaus, which is basically the only place you ACTUALLY need speedup if you're not an ADHD zoomer faggot who can't handle a game unless it's running at 5000 FPS with barely comprehensible audio.

Oh I see, I misremembered. I played Sun when it came out because people kept saying they completely changed the formula, and got extremely disappointed when it still followed the structure enough to effectively be the same, I must have eventually twisted that into there being 8 Kahunas. I still stand that it doesn't change the formula enough.

I like ranked doubles in the regular games, I didn’t struggle TOO much but Saxton Hale and the true final boss fucked me up for some reason when I played at launch
