Thing is most people agree that no unlocks at all isn't an improvement. There is definitely some shit people are glad to see gone and the overall lack of clutter feels good. But with no unlocks at all you get shit like snipers becoming a hell of a lot stronger due to lack of flares and sentry nests becoming harder to take down due to the lack of weapons that made removing sentries easier like direct hit.

i had more fun when the item servers went down a while ago and everything was back to mostly vanilla for a couple days. most of the time when i play anymore i get annoyed by a large number of unlockables and find myself having more fun when nobody is using them.

Spy is an interesting class, it's inherently a gimmick that is completely different from every other class and so it being a glass canon is good, it should be a very particular way of playing the game and understanding that you have to be careful because any ol schmuck can insta rape you, but the reward is immense
