Anyone else less prone to play Steam games because of the hours counter?
For me, quickly accumulating tens of hours soon after purchasing a game makes me feel bad about my life and so does the gameplay hours counter of the last two weeks.
And no, setting gameplay details to private does not help, as the hour count still taunts me every time I launch the game.

I don't care about my own, but I'm always amazed by the people who can spend 3,000 hours in one game. That's damn good value for their money, The most I've managed is over 1,000 but that includes playing the game off Steam too.

You sound incredibly insecure and retarded

I'm less prone to play them if I don't have a way to track how much time I've spent on them

That's like being angry at a scale for showing your weight. Bitch, you've still spent the same amount of time playing the game whether you have a counter or not. Man the fuck up and spend your time as you choose

I know this thread isn't serious, but the solution to this autism is literally to do something instead of sitting around whining like a faggot.
You won't mind having played 500 hours of a game if you also read books, studied something, created some art, worked on something, helped other people, did exercises, blah blah blah.

In other words, this is the typical concern of lazy people who, deep down, don't do shit.

>9k hours
Crazy amount. Hope you had a good time.

Don't know that feeling, if tens of hours just go by fast in a new game it just means I'm having fun. I spend my free time playing games most of the time, that isn't news to me.
Anonymous No.723233784 [Report]
I don't really have that problem but I do have that one fag friend that literally comments and judges every game I buy and play, and I'm starting to get sick of it.

You made me remember how I had over a year's worth of playtime on my main in WoW before I quit. I also had about ~6 months combined on my alts. Probably 12-14k hours in total

Bro we already have to spend so much time managing work and our day to day lives. If I spend some of that time doing shit I want to do like playing games you better believe I'm proud of that dumbass little number counter. Every hour is a 'fuck you' to the boring shitty parts of our daily toil. If you feel bad about it it's probably because you have priorities you aren't living up to and you need to think hard about where those feelings come from and what you're going to do with them.

It's the opposite for me. One of the reasons I want everything on Steam is to see how many hours I played. I want to see how much enjoyment I got for my money

Why don't you just think back to what you just played instead? Did you have a good time? There's your value

It's the opposite for me. It's what drew me to steam +15 years ago even when I was autistically concerned about owning physical media. I even close my games to minimize afk time if I feel like I'll be out a few minutes to have a more accurate count.

You can see hours played on PS5/Switch, it’s just not as obvious since you need to enter a menu to see it

>one YEAR of your life (including sleep) is 8760 hours
>this nigga spent just over 3 actual full years of his life playing FFXIV
>that's not including the time he spent sleeping
Damn

He probably left it open while sleeping and working. Social game people do this to be with their e-partner while they sleep or to be able to read the nearby chat log when they wake up or get back from work

It's also not as accurate and with Switch the problem is you don't have cheevos

I don't have a game with more than 300h on steam. Maybe I did more in some MMO off steam or something, but I was never a bit fan of those types of games either and couldn't keep playing them for long.
I just don't get playing something that much.

I hate having my hours counted. I don't want to know I spent 400 hours playing a game I barely like. PS5 and Steam leave me alone.
I always clear the game timer on emulators. I just don't want to know.
Anonymous No.723236260 [Report]
No I don't care about that gay shit stop being a normalfag fuck LOL
Anonymous No.723236279 [Report]
Actually, I don't like that it doesn't count hours while playing offline, I like to keep track how much I've spent on a videogame but I also hate having wifi on when I'm on a single player game.

I don't really look at those numbers, Factorio is my most played turns out.
