Last good Bioware game, DA2 is a linear gay dating sim, DA:I is a gay dating sim but in a single player mmo slop, and you saw Veilguard.
There isn't an rpg that would top it ever since.

Gameplay sucks, graphics suck, and all the potential of the setting is wasted in the sequels. So yeah, I’d say in general it was mogged. Alistair and Morrigan are still excellent characters though, much better than most rpg characters these days.

Only things that aren't aging well are the graphics and a few technical aspects (it can be annoying to get running on modern hardware). Other than that, it's fine wine. BG3 is the only other game that comes close to scratching a CRPG itch the way Origins does.

Honestly still hold for me. The game has this gritty bloodstained art direction that holds up, aided by clever lighting tricks and excellent character proportions. Still Bioware's most best character creator.

It aged well. It doesn't have the le epic reddit tier humor yet (Shale is completely optional doesn't count), no breaking 4th wall, is properly edgy, when it's funny, it's unintentional (oh no, blood mage run away and we don't have the vial with his blood, says the templar who was sprayed with pressurized red juice), makes fun of enchantment retards, allow you to kick out the hypocrite palading pretender, lets you impregnate a witch... it's beautiful retro game.
