There aplenty of options.
Can disable them entirely.
Can set them to peaceful so they only attack when you start shooting at them and otherwise they ignore you.
Can disable expansions so once you clear nests they don't repopulate the area, making them essentially "finite" and allowing you to sevure safe perimiter forever (until you start polluting further away).
Can lower expansion frequency, nest sizes etc.

Easily. Just deconstruct some trees and turn spoilage into nutrients to kickstart everything. If you need eggs you can also just go kill a base and grab them.
Anonymous No.723254432 >>723261396
Pentapod eggs are honestly a non-issue with even the most basic of circuit logic solutions.
If you're making too much, you can even burn the excess in a burner easily. Hell, I would go so far as to say that if you're having fuel problems, pentapod eggs are not the worst fuel to use for turbines.
And a single assembler can restart a nutrient chain with spoilage, so if anything goes wrong there's no reason the factory can't restart again.
The problem I personally have with Gleba is how fucking obnoxious the planet's spoil mechanic is, because using nutrients to power a biochamber, is actually extremely annoying to make decent builds for as opposed to THE REST OF THE FUCKING GAME.
Gleba is solved by most retards by using bots everywhere. That's the general approach most have when they realize how fucking stupid Gleba is.
But none of this would be as frustrating if it wasn't for the simple fact that THE SCIENCE PACK SPOILS.
And you can only have Biolabs ON NAUVIS.
So you have to SHIP CONSTANTLY or lose all of your fucking science into spoilage.
Gleba sucks. It deserves its bad rep. I only wish people shat on Wube more for Gleba.

The best piece of advice is that it's far better (for your resources, time, and attention) to proactively destroy all nests that enter your pollution cloud. You go to them, not the other way around. Take advantage of the power spikes new tech gives you: grenades, the car, defender capsules, flamethrower turrets, and the tank.

2.0 gave tanks equipment grids, which means you can trick them out with energy shields, personal laser defenses, and even exoskeletons. Two of each along with one assembler making shells for your main gun - you'll become a God of Death tearing through nests.

More tips:
>Once you have flamethrower towers up biters are no threat there. It's harder to use them offensively but can be done.
>Pipes are good enough to serve as walls in the early game, and cheaper / easier to make
>Placing pipes (or any other object) in a chunk makes biters less likely to expand there. Some pipes in a winding circle around your starting area makes it far less likely biters will expand aggressively
>Once you have red chips, you can make efficiency modules. Everyone underestimates how much pollution electric miners produce; put E. modules in them and your resource patches will be much safer
>Get a mod like Even Distribution to make it easier to quickly put lots of bullets in lots of turrets
>The real best piece of advice is that this is entertainment. If biters make it less >fun, you don't have to play with them

Not directly. But you're right that Gleba practically begs you to pick up circuits to try and find a way to solve the bullshit spoilage mechanic.
The main thing you need to know is that only harvesting fruits and having agriculture towers powered produces spore clouds.
The fruits have a long spoil time, so you have plenty of time to process them, only once you do they have a fucking 4 or 3 minute spoil time depending on the type of fruit.
This means that you want to turn them into bioflux and process them as you need them.
But there's a catch. Processing fruits makes seeds. And if you do something wrong, you need to pull spoilage from them.
So, one single biochamber needs not just 2 or 3 but up to fucking 5 different things going in and out of it.
1. Nutrients to power it.
2. Inserter to output finished product
3. Inserter to input ingredients (Sometimes two at a time. That's really fun, right?)
4. Spoil output
5. Seed output

It's no wonder so many faggots jump straight to bots. Gleba is SHIT and badly designed. Fuck Wube.

He put the train rails on one half-belt and used long inserters to feed them, he was getting like 10SPM and complained about it for hours until I just quietly fixed it when he was doing something else. I didn't even change his setup really, just moved the tracks to a single belt and switched them so a fast inserter could grab them, he flipped out, deconstructed the entire thing, and banned me.
I don't even care if things are inefficient, it's not like I was shitting on him or anything. I probably wouldn't have even helped him with it if he wasn't complaining about it.

I can also just always make less and then that's it. I still need to put laser turrets, what if one lab has eggs but doesn't work? Still need to kill the hatchling.
My nutrient line is a single belt going across all biolabs. Reminder that the spoilage of the fruits affect the nutrient start spoilage which then affects the bioflux spoilage and then the egg spoilage and then the science pack spoilage. I put the packs in box then say to the inserter to pick the freshest to put in the rocket.
The only problem I had was having no flush system to dump spoilage in lava on Vulcanus which is where I put my science labs when I research something that doesn't take Gleba science packs, otherwise I get 300+ science per minute, never had an issue, it works all by itself.

No you don't have time, if you process an almost spoiled fruit it will yield an almost spoiled product.

And no you don't need to have seed output, you can have seed and spoilage output then separate them with splitter and also use the priority output of splitters to send the excess seeds into the burner with the spoilage.

If belt has > on it then output signal for that type of asteroid processing.
Then tell the grinder to change recipe based on signal and output

I get what they were going for with space platforms, but they’re programmed to be a puzzle way too much and a lot of issues they have are limitations intentionally introduced to make them a pain in the ass to work with in any other way but the intent. They even reduced the ammo stack size because people found shipping ammo to them was more cost effective then producing it on the platform.
If I didn’t have to ensure that literally everything had splitters, circuits, and funnels to throw out excess material, I might enjoy it more. As it stands, making a pleasing and effective platform design is too much trial and error. Not being able to place additional storage beyond the central hub and its extensions is cancer.

Blue science (after green and military) is the biggest filter in the entire game that makes people stop playing. More complicated inputs in addition to needing to play with fluids. But your reward for it- well the reward to making blue science is needing to figure out advanced oil processing (the first time the game gives you a problem that is best solved with a circuit condition), but the reward for figuring out THAT is bots, which are the single most important upgrade in the game. Even if you can only struggle-scrap together a factory that makes a couple bots per minute, that still gives you all the bots you need to do *everything* far faster than you used to. Embrace whatever spaghetti you need to get bots automated, only then start thinking about ripping things up and remaking your factory more efficient/pretty.

I have to automate a volcanus spaceship to bring back science.

Waterworld planet
Radars and upgrades sonars to detect resources
Offshore rigs to mine resources
Offshore pumps to pump oil
Rigs are much bigger than BMD's but can only be used on water foundations

The main gimmick being platform tiles have a max weight capacity, larger buildings spread their weight over more tiles, but struts can be constructed to connect tiles and spread weight over a larger area

Mining offshore releases sediment and pollutants into the surrounding water and aggro creatures undersea, these creatures don't attack the player, just the platforms and damaged platforms destabilize the integrity, potentially causing submersion and sinking.

<70% weight capacity - Normal foundation
>70% weight capacity - Submerged foundation
100%+ weight capacity - Foundation sinks, destroying it and whatever was on it.
Damaged foundations have a reduction of max weight based on damage.

Could integrate with other planets as well, offshore rigs and sonar finding massive oil wells out at sea in Nauvis, Lithium brine on Aquilo, Stone and bacteria on Gleba, Tons of scrap on Fulgora etc.
Plus boats, freighters, floatation platforms giving an alternative to elevated rails, destroyers for water/surface bombardment, upgraded spidertron that can walk on water

The foundation gimmick is pretty much already there with space platforms acting similar just with no weight values

Orbits already don't really make sense since they all act stationary, but a planet that was periodically closer or further requiring actual timing of the supply ships etc.

Alternatively incredibly heavy gravity planet that you can't land on and you have to build a special initial lander for or something.

I feel like all the planets kind of feel like they should've just been biomes of Nauvis, it doesn't make sense that every planet is just one (more or less) consistent biome across the entire surface.
Asteroids would be the obvious exception and you could still do things about needing to get to space first before you can travel to another biome because when you're having to do intercontinental travel you might as well overshoot slightly and use ballistic (orbital) trajectories anyway.
Maybe you could still have one actual other planet if it's like Venus, where the atmosphere is radically different globally.

Build everything in small modules that go take in the fruits and output finished (non-spoiling) product. Don't try to have centralized bioflux etc. production. Turn off the input inserters when the chests are getting full. Make all the belts lead to incinerators, don't let anything lie around to spoil.

Understand that resources on Gleba (except stone) are literally, 100% infinite. It doesn't matter how much of your fruit goes to waste, it can be replaced for effectively free. That being said, limit your production to what you need otherwise pentapods will swarm you. Like >>723320838

The functional problem with this is that it invites the possibility of half your belt being spoiled and your biolabs not being able to work until the later part of the belt being spoiled or used. The later part of the belt should all be exclusively older than the earlier part, in other words you should maintain an ascending order of spoilage on the belt to maintain full operation.

Yes I need ratios, if I say "ok I want 2 rockets per seconds", then I place how many machines I would need to get that result so it's easy to visualize the magnitude.

But if it's iron plates or copper, I just max out a couple of belts then forget about it.

I solved it by having just enough machines to ensure all the fruit is processed, with little downtime, combined with a switch to turn the agricultural towers off if for some reason there's no nutrients on the belt. I also have a power switch to cut off electricity to the non-essential parts of the factory if the steam in my storage tanks drops too low. Defenses include a wall of tesla turrets set to target everything, in front of a wall of rocket turrets set to target all stompers, and big strafers, with roboports and repair packs stored at regular intervals.

If for some reason, the factory DOES break, and there's no nutrients, I have ANOTHER power switch leading to a setup of assembly machines, for processing the yumako mash directly into nutrients, which I manipulate manually, and only once I diagnose why the factory died in the first place.
