For a "mecha game" it did put a lot of effort in the subtext behind characters.

You are a mercenary dog, and the branching story make you define yourself along three direction.

The bad end where you follow your mission without thinking, killing everyone, including yourself and the one who saved you, and loved you..
The good end where you end up fighting someone you didn't know was your friend.
The true end where you fight someone who is the same as you, but want to make the noise stop, ALL the noises.

And the range of characters are great.
You have the warrior who joke about you being the "unlucky third" 13, then go crazy over that as his luck run out.
You have the CEO constantly upgrading himself and considering you old-gen are vermin.
You have your "handler" who actually treat you as well as someone ready to sacrifice everything for his goal could.
You have Igaru who just want some quiet. he had the same augment as you, and thus could hear the Coral.
You have your alien waifu from another plan of existence, who really don't want to have to kill you, even as you threaten her entire race
There the secret AI who has been running the show since the start

...and that's only the characters I can explain shortly

Mainly because I kept the run narratively coherent, I probably missed a lot despite racking up around 80 hours. It just didn't make sense for the party to go after missing mushroom hunters, rescue slaved gnomes or investigate toys rigged with explosives given that in the overarching story the world was about to end in a matter of days.
I recognized it could turn into a "lets just get it over with slog" all the way back in act 1 and thankfully it was peak kino. Also ran the anti-woke mods some anon recommended here, thanks.

Does it multiple times. I can't tell what I prefer to be canon though since the Allmind "final" just feels like some sort of time line fuckery.

Haven felt like it had a pretty good conclusion. I just kind of stuck around in the final spot for a bit, not wanting it to full end.

Ys Origin. The second I realized how fast you can clear a single route I cleared another routes in two sessions and the third one in a single sitting. That game felt satisfyingly short for like 21-22 hours.
