The paragon shooting the bomb slower might seem like a nerf but it might be a buff in disguise.
Since it gains attack speed with degrees, after reaching some degree it was able to shoot a second sticky before the first one detonated, so he threw it on a random moab instead wasting it. That meant getting past X degree was a nerf for bosses. I think this is what they're alluding to in the text.

Just did some calculations and if you don't use that new mechanic, you'd afford the dart paragon on round 120. This is assuming you buy the bare minimum, non crosspathed 3 T5 darts.
With this, you get 101k so you'd afford it on round 97 instead.

It does have seasonal cosmetics but I believe they come back each year. You can't even buy them with real money, only with in game trophies you get from playing the various events.
Technically the game does have loot boxes you can buy that give you random "instamonkys" that let you place down an upgraded tower for free. The game is not balanced around using them and if you do you are unironically cheating. You can also get some for free by playing the game and the hardest difficulty bans the use of them anyways.

You want to just farm farm farm while spending as little as you can on defense. Bottom path druids are extremely strong with Obyn.

That's all the defense I used up to round 34 and I didn't need that much to reach there. The only thing not shown is the 020 that I eventually turned into a 320 ninja I used before Obyn got to level 8.
For farming I did the usual IMFopolis start, you can afford to begin the first round with a 030 bank and you can defend with just the heroes for a bunch of rounds. I can go more specific if you want.

For the most part, yes. Some of the higher difficulties and most of the more advanced maps will demand more of your attention though.
