Very stiff.
There are a million problems and I can't be arsed going over them but remember how in Dead Space the Ishimura felt claustrophobic and directed you on, every wall and obstruction felt natural, though you felt like there was so much of the ship to see even if you could never explore it all you knew it was there going 'Damn wish I could be there' whereas Crapshit the New Dick gives you endless open terrain and says 'Hey bet you wanna go here but YOU CAN'T whilst blocking you off from everything with walls or gaps your man-woman could hop or invisible walls because the creators have no sense of creativity or design. There is so much wrong and shit like not being able to fuck up the environment because they couldn't be arsed to add it or hit things with your gun because it's magic and disappears because they couldn't be arsed adding the animations or shooting a metal lock and it makes the sound of broken wood and explodes into wood splinters because they just could not be arsed.
There's a million things wrong.

It's not from fear. It's because I generally just never feel like playing anything this time of year, and have already usually played whatever horror games interested me at various points earlier in the year. Cronos was absolute dogshit.
Allow me to copy/paste the shit I spoke about before.
>'female protag' has male body because they copied the same man body
>just gave it a female voice for their 'strong female' character when a guy would have been better
>barely anything is destructible where it would make sense to be because you're a space-age nigga in the 1980's because devs couldn't be arsed with adding it
>this isn't something most question in Dead Space for certain bits because the environment is space-age tech and a giant fucking spaceship
>but in Dead Space a majority of things you could think are breakable are partially breakable
>the world in Dead Space is closed and narrow, the Ishimura is claustrophobic and you are always pushed on
>there are barely any invisible walls and the environment is carefully made so the destruction of the ship closes you off from exploring beyond the paths shown
>all landscapes and open spaces you see make you go 'Damn, wish I could be there' but you know you can't reach it
>Cronos is open and has invisible walls everywhere around every object whilst the world is open as fuck but you can't get to it
>all it would take is a slight jump over a trench, but no, you're blocked off by god himself
>Dead Space has its necromorphs able to be staggered and ripped apart whereas with Cronos all you can do is shoot their legs to put them down on the ground, otherwise their windup attacks can't be interrupted
>melee attacks aren't worth dick even when an enemy is down whereas they have tangible weight and damage in Dead Space
>Cronos' take on stasis is to attach a wavy laser pointer to your gun and say 'point and click on this orb' to move past a section, no shooting it at enemies to slow them or any puzzle sections that require the player to think for a moment

I tried to play through silent hill f but it just wasn't getting me immersed, so I dropped that. I played through cultic chapter 2 which has some spooky atmosphere which I enjoyed well enough, though I actually prefer chapter 1. I'm currently indulging myself in a smorgasbord of horror demos from steam next fest but do desire a full game of action spooks to play for the rest of the month. I've played dead space, resident evil (well, the good ones), alien isolation etc enough and would like a new title.

>mandatory AAA PRESS BUTTON TO INTERACT WITH WORLD to get through sections and climb over obstacles to either load the next section due to shitty programming or to break up the monotony of shit gameplay
>Dead Space has you melee with your gun and a loud shout, smacking enemies with your full force
>it visibly staggers them whilst every gun in Dead Space is animated with Isaac and moves with him perfectly, they have tangible weight and interaction to them
>Crapshit the New Dick simply makes the space-age nano guns disappear when you melee because they couldn't be arsed with animating any of it whatsoever
>enemies are static and have no interaction, you have no idea if you're hurting them with the melee until you learn how many hits it takes
>which is too many because they didn't want to make it a main focus as they couldn't be arsed to add any weight or animations to the enemies or a limb system like Dead Space
>all of the 'puzzles' are braindead and you find codes to safes or where you need to go right next door because the devs have zero creativity
That'll do.

>Bloodborne may not be a straight-up horror game
>But let me tell you about all the horror present in the game anyway and how they affected me
>Oh but it's totally not a horror game though!
I will never understand people who make this arbitrary distinction but still acknowledges all the horror elements that the game has (while still insisting it isn't one) and I know it's solely because of how powerful you are as The Hunter which is just so dumb. Like yes you're powerful in BB and the combat mechanics are excellent and provides a lot of freedom but you're not fucking Alex Mercer from Prototype Jesus Christ. Souls games all have somewhat clunky combat to actually make you feel less powerful than in typical ARPGs/CAGs since (you) are the underdog in a dying dark fantasy/gothic horror setting

I think Miyazaki even commented on this aspect once saying it was intentional to try to instill a sense of fear and terror in the player so they felt a greater sense of accomplishment when they overcame it. Sekiro by comparison was not going for something like that at all and it's reflected in its gameplay.

1. Do a clean 1.2 install of the game.

2. Copy over only the vampire.exe file to a new empty directory.

3. Install the unofficial Basic patch in this new directory with the sole .exe in it.

4. Copy over the following files from this patch install directory to the folder with the real game (pasting files in their proper folder structure place):
root folder: 6 .dll files + the updated vampire.exe one
root\Bin: 5 .dll files
root\Bin\loader: everything
Unofficial_Patch\cfg: user.cfg
Unofficial_Patch\cl_dlls: both .dll files
Unofficial_Patch\dlls: the single vampire.dll file

5. Enjoy the game.

still wakes the deep was painfully mediocre if not outright bad. I like walking simulators but this went too far with crawling/jumping/shimmying/climbing/swimming etc. like all you do is some kind of acrobatic, there's no other gameplay, there's no puzzles and it's linear as shit, there's zero exploration. the story is overly dramatic, the NPCs talk way too much and their accent is annoying. about the only good thing I can say is that the monster designs are cool but even those are lifted from The Thing. I'm glad I got it from gamepass. had zero fun in a 6 hour playthrough, not recommended.

I really enjoyed this series more than I thought I would. It was honestly just the game I was looking for. It was really nice waiting for the next halloween to try the next one which I liked okay even though it was open world. I'm pretty sad we will never see a new one but I'm glad it all ends on a good note.
