The JP word salad has a lot of bullshit that adds fuck all to the actual substance of the message and also has 都合のいい thrown in there for good measure, which people always fuck up and render as "convenient" when the word requires some interpretation to convey the intent well in English.

Reducing 都合の良い/都合が良い/好都合 down to "convenient" is classic translator-ese since the dawn of time. It CAN mean "convenient" but just as often there are better ways to write it that more correctly conveys the true intent.
