I like it, but I do think it gets glazed a bit too much these days. It used to just be a hidden gem, but now it's THE hidden gem that people won't shut up about being the peak of mascot platformers. I'd put it up there with one of the better Kirby games, like Planet Robobot, but with a better-than average story. But it's also on the short side and the challenge is nonexistent until the endgame and the secret level. Normally that's not a problem for me, but the mechanics are really fun when they're asking a lot from you, but it rarely asks much of anything from you.

Klonoa 1 and 2 are games that are definitely worth playing, but don't fall for the disingenuous hype.

It’s good. Definitely games lots of people missed. I was pleasantly surprised by the duology collection, more so than Spyro and Crash collections which I also never played as a kid.

Not really no. The only people who like Klonoa are usually degenerates.

But Klonoa is not that good. I can understand why the series totally failed. The main character doesn't look great, those Disney Dumbo sized ears make him look really silly. Klonoa looks better than platformer characters like Banjo but he doesn't look that great overall. As far as splicing appendages of different animals goes Klonoa fails compared to Ratchet's design.

The gameplay is not that engaging its a puzzle platformer so the gameplay is somewhat slowish. I don't mind a few puzzles like in Mario Bros 2 USA but Klonoa really halts level progress for the sake of segmented puzzles. And the other thing damaging Klonoa is the fictional babyish language the characters speak. That thing really helped make Klonoa come across as unappealing.

The only good thing about Klonoa is the story of the first two games but for that you can go on youtube. Klonoa is not worth playing the fact that even the recent collection failed across ALL consoles shows that Klonoa doesn't wow audiences. Even Banjo still retains some level of fame. Klonoa on the other hand failed every single time the property was brought out by Namco. Even Bomberman is more successful than Klonoa.
