I played the shit out of the two games on the PSP. Those were incredible crossover fanservice games for the franchise. It was like playing with action figures.
Square absolutely cannot in any capacity get a single thing right anymore when it comes to Final Fantasy. Kitase and the rest are all hell bent on chasing the tails of industry trends FF has no place in. Dissidia would be such an easy slam dunk if they played it straight and made an actual new entry instead of shit like that competitive pseudo live service garbage, or whatever this mobile crap is gonna be.

The literally only kind of exciting character was Rinoa because she's barely remembered in the legacy of Final Fantasy whores. That being said I'm not playing or paying this mongoloid company a dime. This shit won't make it a year.

You know, it really is impressive to me how SE have this franchise with great concepts and foundations, which is loved by millions worldwide, and they have managed to not make a single worthwhile entry in the last decade and more
BE and WotV were actually pretty fun for Tactics enjoyers, but when you fail to market to more than a couple of thousand people you have to wonder if they're even interested in succeeding with these mobile spinoffs

Square Enix has for the longest time had this really weird marketing philosophy that makes 0 sense to most people.
AAA Final Fantasy games get some of the most extraordinarily obnoxious marketing ever made on Earth, costing hundreds of millions, throwing cash and attention at literally ANYONE who is willing to say something nice about their product (pic related and Rebirth made this very clear), while everything that isn't a AAA Final Fantasy game gets actual dog water and nothing else. 99% of SE's games are sent out to die with zero fanfare or advertisement despite often being better games than one would expect.

Not to mention that SE mobile games tend to have an extraordinarily early EOS, to the point where they pull the cord if it is isn't make 2800% profit or whatever. Most people aren't even going to bother and there goes another potentially interesting IP down the drain.

The trailer seems to suggest that the gacha mechanic will be for special moves. They are just holding some hype characters for major updates to get people excited. Adding a cool special move for anniversary isn't going to move as many purchases as adding Sephiroth with a handful of moves
