Sgt. Frog is such a great fucking anime. I used to watch one episode a night to relax me/wind down for bed. The English dub was honestly fantastic, which is rare. Every episode was enjoyable though, and I thought the comedy was good.

fuck I remember watching this on Netflix 15 years ago. I don't even like slice-of-life/comedy anime but this shit was good and I still remember that funky disco ED. I want to go back to 2010 when I would stay up "late" playing pokemon and maplestory and catching old reruns of shit like Jake Long or El Tigre. Shit genuinely felt like the Dark Hour when you stayed up past 10 o'clock as a kid

The original wow vanilla shipped two whole continents and hundreds of hours worth of content in less than 5gb.
All ps1 ff games lasted for over 40 hours and barely took 3 or 4 700mb disks.
Ps2 gta games lasted for hundreds of hours and only needed a single 4.7gb dvd.
It's entirely perfectly doable, they're just incompetent.

Because there is greater storage so developers are less compelled to optimize their games. This evolved into not bothering to optimize since memory and storage can be upgraded. It's just laziness.

There is no game released in the past 5 years that's less than 5 gb and isn't an indie game. Buyers will see the file size and decide it's an indie/shovelware, then see the price tag and think they're getting ripped off.
