Former Ubisoft execs Thomas François, Serge Hascoët, and Guillaume Patrux have been given suspended prison sentences for sexual and psychological harassment.

As reported by The Guardian, the trial – which began in June – saw an "overwhelming" amount of evidence of harassment against Ubisoft employees from the three former executives.

During the trial, employees described the company's offices in Montreuil, Paris as being run "with a toxic culture of bullying and sexism".

François, former vice president of editorial and creative services, received a three-year suspended sentence and fined €30,000 for sexual harassment, psychological harassment, and "an attempted sexual assault". He left Ubisoft in August 2020 following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Former CCO Hascoët was found guilty of psychological harassment and "complicity in sexual harassment". He was given an 18-month suspended sentence and fined €45,000. Hascoët, who oversaw Ubisoft's editorial team, resigned in July 2020 following a number of accusations.

Former game designer Patrux received a 12-month suspended sentence and fined €10,000 for psychological harassment.

As reported by France24, lawyer for the civil parties affected Maude Beckers described the ruling as "a very good decision today, and for the future".

"For all companies, it means that when there is toxic management, managers must be held accountable and employers can no longer let it slide."

François, Hascoët, and Patrux were arrested by French police in 2023 – along with two other employees – following a year-long investigation. All three former executives denied the charges.

It's pretty good, feels like classic HOMM and there was a lot of effort put into the animations and art. Seems like it could be a good way to play a game a lot like HOMM3 but without all the super old game jank.

That being said Ubisoft is shit.

Is it just me, or are Schism creature summoning skills are kinda useless?
You need to sacrifice your entire stack in battle in order to summon. What if it survives? Then you just lost a bunch of units for nothing.
Even if you successfully summon a new stack, it's still capped at 50% HP efficiency, so half of those units are lost anyway.
You also need to use a turn to summon, a turn you could've spent reducing the enemy numbers (instead you're sacrificing your own).
And lastly, the new stack is summon on top of an allied corpse, so it's likely to come under enemy attack, just like the units that were used to summon it were before.
If anything, it seems more like an ability you'd use to somewhat recuperate after, or, possibly, turn the tide during a decisive battle. One that would leave your army decimated, even if you're victorious. And not a gimmick that you'd be using constantly, trying to snowball in the early game, like Necromancy. That said, Schism has their own Necromancy-like snowball-enabling hero skill. It's just that their unit skill slots occupied by the summoning ritual are kind of wasted, when there could've been an ability you'd use in battle regularly.

I posted this in the other thread but best use I've found for that ability is when you conquer towns of different factions.
Just keep sacrificing their units for summoning more Cthulhu shenanigans.
For example I increased a tier 7 unit in this battle by 5.
Of course you can do this with different creeps but ideal is to find a HUGE ranged stack and cast twilight so you're totally in control of how you want to do this. Ideally neutrals with very low speed are preferrable.
Then have these sacrificial stacks sacrifice themselves and keep summoning(have the summoned stacks summon again and so on).
of course its no necromancy since that guarantees you units by defeating units and its a bit trickier to pull off but you git gud at it you can increase your high tier units and necromancy can't do it to this extent.

I'm playing it right now. First scenario as Dungeon.
Honestly it's pretty good, I'm enjoying it so far. Stuff like the double upgrades, or alternate attack modes for units are all fun, and considering this is just a demo, I'm positively surprised by the fact that all the skills and spells seem to be pretty well balanced, too. Haven't really found any that would seem useless.
The artstyle seemed bad on the videos, but I got used to it quickly, it's alright. Only wish the UI was more stylized and that the sound effects were better.
But overall, I like it.

The schism base ability temporarily gives you more units in your stacks, but they count for what you permanently revive, so the efficiency is higher. Also there are skills and artifacts (and maybe something else) that boost your % summoned in general.

Heroes always had popular contemporary fantasy aesthetic, this is just one of those we have currently. They need to present character backstories better and upfront tho. Due to the easy moddability of the game I've made a 8 player map for the demo that everyone can download and play now.

It features... 8 players, Free for All, Classic map.
You start with only 1 hero and 1 city but there is another city nearby you can capture.

Active Heroes capped at 3 per faction. You can also change it to 1 to make it a single hero map if you prefer.

This guy is pretty cool.

The +8 items unfortunately require higher and higher amount of dust to upgrade every time. It starts at 200, by level nine it was 889. So you can't just upgrade them indefinitely. I think I got them up to +24 each (there's an alchemical shop that converts gems/crystals/mercury to Dust, you can easily get thousands of it there).

The Beelzebub items are still better, +12 for everything, plus they guarantee that your creatures do maximum damage on every attack.
Also you can put the Shadow of Death boots and cape on top of everything, they give a +25% boost to the given stat, so I can push my primary skills up to 70-80. I just don't put them up because then I can't wear the Fallen Angel Wings that gives you permanent flying on adventure map, and the boots that give +30 movement.

Also if you get the full Power of Dragon Father, you become immune to all spells and can cast Armageddon on everyone. Unlike H3 it's pretty easy to get it here since every town but Necro has an artifact merchant, and it resets every week.

No fucking clue how to get the Grail though, you have to beat a mirror hero with 2x the army and 2x the stats. Can't even beat one stack of those. Anyone managed to beat that so far?

You can't learn tier 3 & higher spells without getting all the magic skills, so those are still must haves. Especially since enemies can debuff your magic levels, so simply having everything at lvl 4 in the mage guilds is not an option.
It's a bit better balanced in that you can roll from 3 different skills on levelup, and even crap skills can have semi-useful subskills. Scouting can give you bonus movement points.

Necro is super low by default and the only way to boost it is passing 5 laws that give you +1% each. So early on you have to do with single digit % resurrections, and even when boosted to maximum you'd only get it up to ~20%. I was rolling the hero with Necro speciality and even after clearing everything on the map I was at 29% only. However due to creature growth, I was fighting 100-500 creatures in every neutral army, so got a fuckton of lower level creatures.

Also the level of creatures seems to matter more. Fighting 400 lvl1 + 200 lvl2 units only got me tier 1-5 units getting added, fighting 2 Lich Dragons always got me extra Vampires (and everything else) despite the total HP being far lower.

Temple feels pretty crap, the cavalry was downgraded, Griffins die too easy, Inquisitors are meme units. Angels traded resurrection for ranged attacks and copying all buffs (resurrection was way more useful).

Necro feels so-so. You have no bone dragons, and gravediggers look fucking stupid. Liches can do either AoE attack or resurrect your allies (or heal everyone while attacking); two stacks of Blood Liches and you'll be able to negate a lot of your losses. Vampire Lords don't do it as T7 for me.

Dungeon seems to be a cross between Heroes 2 and 3, and harpies got changed to dark elf assassins.

Sylvan feels a bit silly, I want elves and dwarves and instead you have forest elementals everywhere. Haven't played them yet. Hopefully I can just use Phoenix spam + Armageddon.

The Cthulhu Cult and the Tyranid/Zerg towns are meme factions.
