Armored Core as a series is unironically a case study into the synergistic relationship between hardcore players and casuals and how they both need each other. There are objectively just as many hardcore AC games as there are casual AC games but people still assume the whole franchise is hardcore when *arguably* every new entry brought some form of casualization in.
