If you manage to get both sides to reconcile the representation of her fiance's ancestor will become the final boss, as that was the person responsible for setting up the arraigned marriage. Hinako acknowledges that she genuinely likes her fiance but wants to grow as a person before committing to a marriage so she doesn't end up like her mother, and her fiance agrees to do the same. They stay in touch, with the knowledge that when they've grown they'll return and see if they still want to get married in the future.

I was harsh on this game, it has niggles, but it's definitely the best effort since 4.

100% real, that's why I'm saying people should actually finish the game before talking about it. First ending leaves you with a "what, that's it?", second and third still don't close the story, and fourth finally ties the loose ends. You do need ot actually do 4 complete runs though, as otherwise you miss some radio recordings if you do the suggested 1st -> 3rd -> 2nd (saving before the route changing point) -> 4th (after reloading that save to minimize play time)
I'm actually curious if there's some extra content if you got for a 5th run, but I finished the 4th ending just earlier and it's 5am right now

Future playthroughs just muddy the focus of the game even more. Rinko and Sakuko don't fucking matter at all to the plot, they're just there to pad the length of the story and game. Shu only matters in a single ending and outside of that he's a pointless fucking simp that's revealed to be whiny drug dealing incel.
It's revealed that Hinako fell in love with Fox Mask and he with her, and later on when he found out their family was broke and retarded he offered money to her father to clear his debts which triggers Hinako into a woman moment spiral that leads to her creating a fake version of herself that's a teenager that becomes sentient and starts attacking her life somehow.
The true NG++ ending is both halves of her histrionic personality disorder somehow leave on good terms with everyone and live two separate lives where both are happy without getting married.
Nevermind that one of them is a literal thoughtform teenager that never comes to terms with letting go and Hinako's mother is dying from brain cancer while her alcoholic father beats the shit out of her. Jinko's story is also never elaborated on outside of her being a paper-thin representation of marriage.

I will give a LEGITIMATE CRITICISM here and say the game SHOULD have opened with a story/character select screen with the other options greyed out so it would PROMPT THE PLAYER to UNDERSTAND there was MORE STORY AFTER FINISHING THE FIRST PLAYTHROUGH.

Setting expectations like that would remedy a LOT of complaints that people have with the story, it's simple, you don't have to change anything about the first playthrough (even though you should) and it doesn't do anything to harm the experience in any way either. It's baffling that they have made these narrative choices.

I am halfway through my first play through. Story is still a mess with nothing explained and I am taking my time exploring every bit.
Is this game worth multiple gameplays? I don't usually do ng+ unless it's for platinum. But I will not platinate this cause I pirated it since 80$ a game is a scam. No matter which game it is.

During the ending her father apologized and promised not to abuse her anymore and she found out she was being drugged so now she can actually clear her head to think what her future with Kotoyuki is and she feels encouraged that he the real Kotoyuki is actually a nice guy but realizes he feels cheated and betrayed by his parents and needs time to figure himself out as well. Also her harming other people is Shuu's fault since he was giving her meds for anxiety headache knowing full well it might cause hallucinations hoping Hinako would realize her love for him except on the day of her marriage she was feeling more anxious than usual and decided to take a shitton which led to violent hallucinations

I dunno why the game glosses over Shu's behaviour but Kotoyuki is protrayed as in the wrong. Overall I really enjoyed the story but don't get why Shu is allowed to not suffer for what he did.

The Inari represent a false promise of security when they know inevitably the suffering will overflow, but they would still benefit from worship afterwards being a selfish Kami and not benevolent.
