For productive endeavors, like game development, you only have a good 3 hours of work tolerance and good output per day, including careful decision-making. Once that's over, usually after lunch, it's no longer about producing new stuff, but about surviving the circumstances and making spot adjustments on stuff you just finished - or doing knowledge share and building rapport with the guys.
If you're already doing 10 hour productivity shifts, ideally you should just move into the building and live there at that point. That was the only way things could get done in video game development studios of the past, when boy's club culture was more prevalent and not made fucking illegal.
So here we now have our problem: developers are overworked because they all hate each others' guts. There's no more "working with the guys", now it's "putting up with the psychos".
These days, even in small studios, there's no cohesive culture or shared ambition because there's no common ground. Diversity or you're bigot, and bigotry is illegal. Guess what that means? Nobody wants to be around their whiny, shit-smelling coworkers, much less spend 10 hours a day imprisoned with them. It's more exhausting to share space with political, cultural and racial enemies, and pretend they're your friends for any amount of time, than to spend three whole months with the bros grinding out a project you all want to see finished.
tl;dr woke fucked the work culture
10 hours of being around kiketoys does not qualify as work, it's financially compensated torture.
