Silksong is GOTY. I say that as a huge E33 fan that was calling it GOTY until Silksong was announced to launch this year. E33 is a top 20 game, Silksong is top 10. Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition is the real GOTY, but it's a remake of 2015 game so it doesn't count

I don't think I even played any game released this year. I'm not into metroidvania, the new MH was reportedly ass and the Tsushima sequel doubled down on the wokeness. It was a bad year. I just played older games.

As of right now, with there still being 2 months and a couple games from this year that i might still get around to in this calender year and a possible GOTY contender out next week in NG4, my current top 5 looks like this.

1. Expedition 33
2. Silksong
3. Monster Hunter Wilds (yes, really. fuck you /v/ it's fun.)
4. Ghost of Yotei (still pretty early but it's kinda blown me away so far, needs to not get stale like the first game's formula did though)
5. Monster Train 2 (although if Hades 2 keeps it up, it'll probably dethrone this as my favorite roguelike of the year)

don't care about Dying Light
tried Blue Prince and immediately bounced off of it. not my thing i guess.

Expedition 33 and KCD2 were really the only game I liked at al this year but I didnt love either of them. They were both just ok.

I haven’t played most of the nominations but for me it’s either donkey kong bananza or sonic racing crossworlds
