I think it looks cool. I don’t have a handheld (beyond original 3DS and original PSP) and I’m interested in getting one. Why should I choose anything (switch 2, Steamdeck, etc) over a ROG Xbox Ally X? Especially since the latter can play steam games as well as my existing Xbox library?

If I'm going to spend $1000 just to play my PC games, why not just save a bit more and build an actual desktop PC?

Absolutely not worth upgrading from a previous gen handheld. Gonna hold onto my OG ROG ally for a while. Already upgraded the drive to 2tb and stuck a 74wh battery in it. It's great.

They'd still get my money because I'm building a PC that would run Windows. It's not about whether or not to give Microsoft money, it's a question of "why get this when I can just build my own PC"? Especially since we all know that nobody is leaving their house with that $1000 thing to walk around with and play on. It's staying in the house. So I'm not paying $1000 just so I can play Age of Empires II, Halo Wars 2, Portal or whatever else in my bed or on the toilet. Then again, handhelds are for me anyway. The last handheld I liked and felt was worth even existing was the DS.

Why does it cost so much more than the Ally X? The Z2 Extreme chip is only like 20% better than it's predecessor. I love my Ally X and I won't go on vacation without it, but it's already too much money.
