I put about four hours into it and did everything including that boss in zone three.

crouch, yellow means pod, the pod have weird popin so if you see an empty corridor run down it if the indicator says its in front of you, but if you can't immediately find it, cut your losses and go find another one, it may be on another level and if you can't climb you're fucked, climb upgrade seems basically necessary for a smooth experience

Let it Die 1 had weapons breaking, and that complete and dogshit tattoo system that hard caps progress.
Now there's this 15 minute timer and extraction based nonsense. Because that's two things everyone loves, a restrictive timer, and unbalanced pvp due to extraction mechanics.

Without raiding other players, it's VERY hard to make money in Let it Die, and without money, it's very hard to do much of anything at all. When the game launched, you could spam raid shitters and steal their money and I'm pretty sure the player you raided didn't lose as much as you gained, so it was a net-gain for the whole system. Now you're lucky if there's ONE valid target, and he probably is broker than you are.

I wish I could have played Let It Die more when it was at its peak. After a patch, the game flat out would not launch for me and by the time I got it working again it was already dead.

Should I buy this game just on aesthetics alone? It's the only thing I enjoyed in the original, but that was for free. Is the Uncle Death voice that bad? I've yet to hear it.

It's UE3, and Japanese, so it's pretty rough, but definitely playable. The base game is basically the same, although they added a kind of final area (41F-51F) after the final boss, that's basically just to help farm materials in the then end game.

They then basically gave up, but added a random faction+floor zone called Tengoku, where you fight nothing but Haters, and there's a random subboss or arena fight every 5 floors, until 100F, when the main bosses start appearing; which goes on until 351F slowly increasing in difficulty. Then in the last year or so they started releasing new Tengoku-like towers that are faction specific, which kind of goes straight to the better part of Tengoku, mostly the same rules apply, but every 10 levels you fight reskins of that faction's Forceman, which drops reskins of their weapon(s) and armour.

Definitely give the demo a try and see for yourself now while you can for free. Hell is a pretty garish departure from the original. You'll hear UD almost immediately in the opening iirc

The original is the single best freemium game I have ever played. Literally nothing requires payment, and it hoovers up idiots money by giving you the ability to put quarters in to keep going(this is almost always a trap).
The only things worth spending any $ on the original is storage space and the elevator, and those are pure convenience since they hand out currency for those two things at a steady drip-feed that within a few months you'll have a maxed out storage anyway.

I guess they also added 5* decals, which while not really unique, they basically made the collab decals irrelevant for the most part.

I got like 50 hours into Let It Die until the ratio of bullshit to fun became annoying and I stopped playing. Is the idea of Inferno that since it's a paid game they aren't going to fuck me as hard with MTX alleviated restrictions and shit or should I just expect more of that? Looking at the ultimate/deluxe bonuses I see Death Metal premium currency is still a thing.

Funny, I was just playing XDive. I don't know if they nerfed the fuck out of the difficulty on releasing this Offline version, but the main story is a fucking joke to get through. At least Let It Die wouldn't have to do much to maintain its difficulty. All it'd need to do is lessen the grind at the later floors.

I gave up when the only way to progress was to farm metals that you could only get at specific times of the week at specific areas when the tower was in a specific configuration and would only drop 30% of the time and you had to haul ass with a limited inventory full of garbage. Literal cancer game design that should result in the public execution of every single employee who was involved in making that shit a reality.

I like the receptionists design but her voice and all the voices in the game are god awful, not even 'english dub' bad, just dogshit. combat feels clunky as fuck, i remember the original was kind of clunky but not to this extent.
all they had to do was make a non-micro transaction version of Let It Die and it would have been good.
