Itβs genuinely depressing to see an entire generation of filtered plebs who think the PS2 was some kind of golden age. The PS2 didn't "win" because it was good, it just won solely due to the fact that your parents bought you a cheap DVD player that happened to play Tony Hawk. It was an appliance of a console. Its entire library is a testament to this fact, a complete dumping grounds of shovelware, licensed garbage, and inferior ports designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator who just wanted to see the polygons. It's criminal that this beat the Dreamcast, where REAL INNOVATION was ongoing like online out of the box, VMUs, a library with actual arcade soulβyou were being conditioned to accept 20fps cinematic slop as "kino." You are the reason gaming is in the state it's in.
