Performance issues stopped turd worlders playing it. The starting area had the worse performance in the game.
The linear story gives it limited replayability especially with no new game+ option.

I can understand the decision of going for linear progression. Since you are taking part of military operation as a member of a conventional force. You don't get the liberty to choose your assignment in one of those. An invasion mode where you choose one of the big four and conquer your way to Terra would get my attention tho.
