I remember thinking it looked cool when I saw preview pictures in a magazine, completely forgot about it, and several years later found out it was considered one of the worst games ever made.

i only played the demo and it was stiff. didnt make me hype and i stuck to secret rings and sonic rush instead

I bought it used five years later for the 360. Sonic '06 came out when I was at my peak Sonicfaggotry, and even I knew it was trash. The whole fanbase knew it. Don't let zoomers revise history and say that fans liked it but "da ebul game journalists" made it look worse than it was because they hated Sonic for absolutely no reason at all. No stupid, everyone knew it was just bad. Everyone was dunking on Elise kissing Sonic, Silver's gameplay being janky and boring, and Sonic fucking dying, like holy shit are you kidding me? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? I remember it all like it was yesterday, man. Still hilarious to think about. It was like a Sonicfag's 9/11. Shit just wasn't the same after it.

Anyway, it's not the absolute worst game ever, but it's still pretty fucking bad.

I played it at a friend’s house. Could never get past the mach speed section in Crisis City. He later sold it to Gamestop for like 15 bucks.

While I haven't played Sonic 2006 myself, I remember around the late 2000s and early 2010s, I watched a lot of Sonic 06 Let's Play videos made by people that liked the other Sonic games but hated 06.

I was 12, so I didn't understand why they said it was bad because the music was amazing and the trailers looked good.

A year later I boughted the PS3 and played it myself. I could see why it wasn't good, but honestly I've always thought it was slightly underrated. It's not an atrocious game IMO, it's just a little underwhelming.
