The gameplay is a downgrade from Dead Space in every way but I still enjoyed it. Always had a soft spot for dreary industrial atmosphere in games. The story is nothing groundbreaking but offered enough mystery to keep you guessing and the main character's development was nice. Solid 7/10, not worth it at full price but definitely if you can find it for around $25.

I liked parts of it but I recommend people to play it with modded in cheats because of how it limits resources and punishes player in a bad way.

Compared to Callisto Protocol:
Worse graphics, equally bad writing, equally bad weapon variety but somehow worse since Callisto at least has grav; worse environmental gameplay that is to say none save for obviously placed explosive barrels so low IQ's can feel intelligent shooting an obvious signal for AOE, somehow worse performance which was already bad enough in Callisto so the standard is bellow even the bottom, worse sound stage. Literally the only thing it has going for it is ammo scarcity, but that's scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of gameplay standards and it's one already done better with actual environmental factors and creative weapons by many other games, especially when others do the RNG segment better. This further isn't helped by the welder fuel dispensers being practically infinite for that endless AOE cheese on a dumb AI that bugs out when it starts frying and can't figure out pathing towards you, but I digress.
All to say, it's a creatively and artistically bankrupt shitshow. The funniest thing is that Dead Space 3 is competent in comparison.

I'm convinced these devs are being propped up by some corporate interest into failing upwards, they have Starfield level of false advertisement, viral marketing, and trashfire products.

I thought it looked like ass before playing but I really enjoyed it in the end, feel it's really underrated. Really good if you pirate it or buy on a sale, not really worth the full asking price, it kinda feels like janky AA-game in many places. Writing is really good, gameplay is okay, very similar to dead space but more difficult and annoying, mostly due do crappy and somewhat amateurish gameplay choices (schizo flame fuel management, unpatched signalis tier inventory management, completely useless melee, etc)

I am really enjoying it. I just got the grav boots. I like the atmosphere and so far the story is interesting. A derelect commie block is a perfect setting for a horror game. I really like the gameplay and the burning corpses gimmick. Seriously one of my favorite games for 2025.

I'd say that happens for the first couple fights till you get the rhythm of charging your shots down. I would have liked a little more margin of error, like ending a fight with a full magazinr or so left but even on the hardest difficulty I'd always have a few bullets left. The bigger fights/boss fights that lock you in tend to give you ammo and meds/resources too.

The essence things you can slot in as passive perks end up helping a lot later; there's one that massively buffs your melee/stomp so that you can smack enemies down or stomp them to finish a lot easier. I ended up having a lot more spare ammo by the end between that and upgrading my gear enough to do more damage.
