The PSP very famously was one of the factors in the PS Vita being a no-confidence system. Stuff was not selling on the PSP at all, software sales were so slow it was a major factor in Capcom shelving Mega Man. If anything the PS4 was an outlier for the times in actually having high attach-bases for software AND high sales.

The console sales don't actually matter unless they're unusually low, and in this regard Playstation 5 is slightly lagging behind the PS4 AND does not have any sales trajectory implying it's going to exceed the PS4. Apparently, Playstation as a brand has hit market-saturation.

It's not. Most of those "PS5-only" games aren't out and the few that are out are either timed exclusives (like Death Stranding 2 and Yotei) or ports like the VR titles and Demon's Souls. Only the two Astrobot games are certified exclusives, though knowing Sony I wouldn't be too surprised if Astrobot got a PC port down the line. I doubt it would sell particularly well though.

Core mechanics, gameplay, and logic are all pulled from the original code. Only animations and visuals are redone. If you are refering to loading times, they are also instantaneous on PC.

As for your question, assuming all Switch exclusives emulate as well as Demon's Souls yes. In a sense all console exclusives are timed. The Switch atleast has the appeal of being portable, but it isn't alone in this market.
