How do you even die in the game? You are faster than your enemies so you can always just kite them, you have a horse to flee completely if you need, and after the first 3 hours or so, you one shot most of them.

I call bullshit. I played this game three times on different patches and I was never in a position where I couldn't just flee from enemies.
Honestly, I don't think I ever got ambushed when not fast traveling, so you were probably running through the woods like an absolute tool, paying no attention at all to the surrounding sounds, because you can always hear the bandits of the woods talking before encountering them.

And even then you can just outrun them pretty easily.

I know that location, there's an ambush location nearby. I suggest you remember where there can be ambushes and be ready to run away if there is one, until you can handle them. If you're on a horse most of the time you can just speed through forward.

I fast traveled until I found that faggot who constantly wants to duel. He has sick armor and you can just poke him to death with a basic sword. Its not hard. You can loot all his armor after that and since you killed him fairly its not stealing.

After that you're basically breaking the game. Full suit of armor and training with Bernard will carry you to the end game and fights become jokes. It kind of ruins the pacing but its a fine world thats worth exploring without it.

Just avoid it, fast travel spawns you a few meters away if I remember correctly.
If you are on horse, just gallop away.

You have tools at your disposal even during the early game. You have a horse, if you know what you are doing you can ride next to them, bonk them on the head and do a U-turn after 50 meters and repeat. Or you can use poison, either on your sword or your arrows, most enemies should die with one good shot to the heart. If you can't do any of these things and you are caught pants down, backstep, don't let them surround you. Depending on your weapon choice you should either poke them with a longsword while retreating slowly, or wait for a parry if you prefer playing with the shield. Also, your gear matters a lot. A good set of armor prevents you from dying in 2 hits and a good sword can pretty much oneshot any unarmed bandit or force a Cuman to give up.
