I miss Tekken 5. The smaller combos, no rage arts, better character and costume designs, the better music, the actually decent story..

Something happened with 6 that ruined the series imo. This is coming from a casual fan who doesn't understand the issues with 8 (I've only played it for about an hour)

It's not that hard to understand why Tekken 8 is bad, the movement is ass so you can't escape pressure, noobs and pros get overwhelmed by constant 50/50 bullshit, the screen is full of fucking aids and explosions, dogshit new like fuckurmom and legacy characters that now looks like troons (rip armor king and king). The OST is the only good thing about tekken 8, all tekken games have incredible OSTs

I want either:
-Nerf heat to be a simple damage boost (and a gimmick for some characters to get special moves like Kaz's devil form or Raven's clones) and no longer a combo extender
-Leave it as is, but it's a bar you have to build up. Every character having it for free every single round is insane.

Volcano Bomb and Storm Rising are at least top 5 tekken tracks.

I don't care about much of the other ones desu. T5 DR Estrada de Estelle, T6 Mystical Forest, T4 Kitsch are probably my other picks.

I miss fighting games not having meters. Tekken and SoulCalibur were more fun without them in my opinion. Obviously that's more of a Tekken 9 change.

Someone suggested changing heat into something that you earn during the fight rather than something you start with. I could see that making it a lot more engaging. I think you'd need to earn it both from doing damage and taking it, otherwise you would probably make situations where a player can't reasonably recover, but otherwise I think the idea has a lot of merit.

I also hope the next season brings back Eliza and at least one unconventional character like Doctor Bosconovich, Roger, etc.

See, jazz is good- electronic dance music is good. The exact same blarring horn sounds that you hear across the soundtrack is not - and drowns out anything good that started in the track. Also, you need to listen to more 2000s techno/dance/electronic music then, because it didn't really sound like that

I think that a bunch of a good changes in tekken 8 are just overshadowed by how shit the other changes really are. Nerfed magic 4s so you don't lose 80 health and eat a mix up at the wall but instead they make every heat move do the same. They let throws be unbreakable on counterhit but then in heat make a bunch of throws unbreakable anyways. A bunch of counterhit safe mids give less reward (unless you're byron). They moved away from all the smaller interactions piling up to the game being two or three big interactions per round and somebody dying. I also wish that they didn't have such a hard on for moves that force you into stance and every character having a stance that's essentially just "Plus on block high/unblockable, massively plus low on hit and safe mid."

Been a Tekken fan since 3, but only bought 7 after its last season, got the bundle with all the DLC at a fraction of the price. Played it, fucked around with the characters, spent many hours in ghost battle, had fun. Never touched online once.
Think I'll do the same with 8.
