Death Stranding 1
I want to give it a try, I know that I will like the gameplay but I'm not so sure about the plot/characters. I don't like that western hollywood shit Kojima is trying to sell

I haven't finished 2 yet but I thought 1 was the most complete game Kojima has made since MGS 3. The main villain is shit but the rest of the plot is solid.

Having Troy Baker as the main antagonist of the game is actually one of the big turn off for me for this game

I thought the plot was pretty great. It dumps a bunch of goofy science fantasy jargon on you from the word go, but it actually goes to some really interesting places in a very cool setting. A lot of stilted dialogue, but I’m sure you expected as much. Great acting performances despite this.
If you enjoyed listening to tapes in MGSV, you’ll probably enjoy reading emails in Death Stranding.

I actually don't mind this desu. I'm mainly worried about the performances of the actors/characters being too "hollywood" and in a forced way.

He's really not that prevalent and while the story frames it as the main conflict there's a bigger conflict that takes priority that's much better.

Okay cool that's good to hear. I'm going to give it a try, I can have it for like 10 bucks anyway

The writing is very much not Hollywood style for either game, even if there are a bunch of people from the artsier side of Hollywood acting

The characters suck. The best character dies in the intro 5 minutes after you meet him. The gameplay also sucks once the novelty wears off.

If it's not that prevalent in the game then I'm fine with this

By the time you "finish" the game, you come to realize none of the plot points have been answered, resolved or even explained. So you're put through 45-60 minutes of cutscenes to complete the shit story only for you to learn youre Hannibal's son

Its such a bad story. Awful. The story in 2 was even worse.

At least 2 tried to be fun with its story though. I feel like with V and DS1 Kojima got self conscious with how goofy his stories were and tried really hard to be serious and high brow. Which doesn't work when Kojima cant help but write retarded shit so both games just came off as embarrassing as a result.
DS2 embraced being over the top and goofy again and it worked for me at least, I had much more fun with 2 overall than I ever did 1 or mgsv.
The guitar duel final boss and Die-Hardmans stupid dance were so entertaining, as retarded as both were.

The plot is fine. Sam is literally me.

DS however is a GAME praised for its GAMEPLAY and Atmosphere.
I put over 150h to my first play through.
