I'm an arachnophobe but the only Vidya spider that scared me was the Skyrim frostbite spider that drops from the ceiling and and attacked me like a jump scare. EDF Spiders are so goofy but the web climbing Retarius spiders that drag you into their web unnerve me so I always kill them first. That same time and those same resources, no matter how minor and slight, can be better used to making the game more complete, optimized, or interesting. It is a waste to cater to a social contagion for a group of people pretending to be scared of something, particularly when that thing they are pretending to be scared of is obviously going to be in the game.

It would be like putting in a "Thalassophobia" mode for Subnautica or Barotrauma.
