I just started playing less than a week ago, what's the track that plays during the very first level, the assassination mission, when a horde is coming? It sounds like nightclub music its catchy.

It is also Darktide canon the Mourningstar's Tech Priests are actually playing this over the comms they are chanting to empower the machine spirit in your weapons as you take down the Arch Heretic in the Omnisiah's name.
>>723456660
Knowing how machine spirits work it's loving every second of it and it's an active fight for the rejects to stop their lasguns from overloading from excitememt
>>723453550
I don't know, maybe one of these: >Warp Traveller >Nightsider >Offworld Auspex >Broadcast Apparatus
Probably not the last two, because they don't play during random hoards, only events. I listed them because they are more electronic.
>>723453360
Bad first impression with performance issues, server issues, crafting issues and premium store issues.
Then, very slow development hampering player retention.
>>723453360
For some reason Fatshark decided you MUST play with other people. There are no official bots and what's modded in is braindead. Which is weird because Vermintide had working bots.
>>723456434
Holy fuck I didn't know Tencent has a hand in this game/Fatshark. It explains so much, especially considering the timeline. >like pre-release/very early LoL >Riot gets bought out by Tencent, they and the game turn to irredeemable dogshit >ff years later, get into closed-beta PoE, like the game >I think in 2016 gets bought out by Tencent >slowly but surely GGG and the game turn to absolute dogshit, of which both PoE 1 and 2 are trash to this day
Loathe the weak who bend and sell out. All Tencent touch turns to shit. The captcha knows.
>>723453360
I'm in Australia and I have to play the Hong Kong or Asia server if I want to actually play with others. It's extremely tiresome playing with Chinks and even Europe server is filled with Russians and Ukrainians. This game is being played only by subhumans who can't speak english (in any server other than the USA ones).
>>723459854
They have some semblance of intelligence. Your chainsword and pistol bolters spirits are barking and snarling at the machine spirit in the traitor captains shield generator while you hack through it.
A Reaver titan and aboves machine spirit is almost human in their sapience
>>723459772
That's grim. I'm also an Aubong I last played 2 years ago when the game was still pulling 10k+ players and even then it wasn't great getting Aussies reliably. Was tempted to play again but not so much anymore. I do remember console players (thanks, forced crossplay) and Chinkoids being particularly bad. Just checked now, game has been getting a third to half of the players as it used to.
>>723459964
Nah mate. I don't try to speak with them infact I would much prefer silence but they insist of chatting with their insectoid chittering language and keep typing squares in the chat (and their names as well since I don't have the language font installed). Their mannerisms are very bizarre as well. They drop out of havocs instantly when they get downed and have no understanding of team work. It's just infuriating.
>>723459985 >I'm also an Aubong
It's a curse when it comes to online games. That's what it is.
>>723457310
Bots are pretty good with single shot weapons in vermintide. They can reliably snipe specials and elites that are actual threats, rather than wasting all their ammo on enemies best killed in melee.
Darktide, for some unfathomable reason, decided to give bots weapons that are almost completely fucking useless against 90% of elites and specials. Hell come to think of it, it doesn’t even have a dedicated sniper weapon, just charge ups that don’t even have a scope.
>>723451249 (OP)
I love darktide so much but I can't help but feel Fatshart killed all hype for the game. They were constantly adding cool shit to Vermy while DT was on life support.
I also assume DT is basicslly dead now. Only a few autists playing who couldn't move on
>>723460521 >placeholders to pad the squad until the actual people would join.
It doesn't work that way due to the timed missions. Let say you get into an auric maelstrom mission when it has a timer of 20 minutes and a guy leaves after 20 minutes. The mission is wiped from the mission select screen and people can't enter it reliably unless you get lucky and the quickplay assigns someone to your team. Not to mention that havoc matches are all private and you are extremely fucked if someone leaves since bots are braindead.
>>723459943 >They have some semblance of intelligence
That's just superstition spread by the charlatans to ensure the masses maintain their equipment properly. Actual machine spirts are the AI in more advanced technology like the things deployed by cybernetica, space marine vehicles, knights and titanicus.
>>723460606
That's just mechanicus. The guard needs to have proper military marches, the space marines need to have bombastic orchestras, the sisters of battle need to have gothic symphony with chorus.
the game felt way worse than vermintide
you're just killing mindless humans that look like zombies
sometimes you'll se a nurgle beast and that's it
the maps are very samey and feel procedurally generated
that's it?
>>723457142
I played it recently and could not get rid of the bots. Just wanted to play it co-op with a friend but had to have bots waddling about for some reason.
The bots were also fine at shooting stuff, few pathing issues, but nothing too major.
>>723451249 (OP)
Jesper Kyd is a master genius. Every single OST he composed is great, without exceptions. And he composed A LOT. His Darktide OST is truly something. I get chills and my blood sets on fire every time i hear Immortal Imperium https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_mBrKIHfx8
The OST is basically the sole reason i still play Darktide after over 600 hours.
His State of Decay OST is criminally underrated too. As is the game itself. Very uniqe and atmospheric. I so wish they get it just right with the third one. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=kLoDa5KtrJk
>>723451249 (OP) >>723460606 >>723460901
I have these OSTs + full Darktide OST + both Space Marine OSTs downloaded on hand in FLAC on my every device. + a ton of ambient playlists on YT. They're all great in their own right. God i love WH40K.
>>723453360
I have like 500h in this game. It has immaculate gameplay and sound design but the absolutely terrible thing about it is the devs refuse to just improve what matters. The game needs more MAPS more GUNS more ENEMIES more BOSSES it just needs more meat, more stuff.
And instead they spend two years introducing the most stupid frivolities like Mortis Trials or achievement farming or emotes, none of which actually adds more of what is best about the game. The devs are capable tapping into pure gold but they refuse to do it and instead waste their time peddling slop, it's maddening.
>>723467057 >The game needs more MAPS more GUNS more ENEMIES more BOSSES it just needs more meat, more stuff.
100% agree. They need to pump out missions first and foremost. Doesn't even need to be any new plot points and much new voice overs. Just different mission in different environments and settings with different objectives. They're plenty of guns already and plenty of enemy types. But the game constructed in the way of missions and grinding in a sense. So it just NEED MORE FUCKING MISSIONS. New bosses would be great too. Heed this simple massage, Fatsharts. Please, i beg you.
Why is the Electrokinetic staff is so garbage? It lools kinda cool to use, but i don't feel any impact with it. I know Inferno is the best, and i actually really like the Blast. Strike is also okay. Make more staves, Fatshark, my Beloved commands thee.
>>723453360
i like it a lot. on higher difficulties the battle trance you can enter is like nothing else, it's like cocaine
that being said the game could be a lot lot better and the combat is the only truly good thing about it
>>723467828 >piggy >less than $30 spent combined with the DLC class for close to a thousand hours of mind bursting fun
One of the best purchases i made in my life. Feels great to have good taste and not being retarded.
>rewards for the challenging difficulties are just crafting materials >can't do shit with crafting materials after you get all the shit you want upgraded >events give nothing but crafting materials and a fucking frame
>>723466832
Yes, but the idea is they're an in-between until people join your game. Private game, for example, needs to have one more real person so you effectively cannot play singleplayer bot-only matches. Darktide is constantly trying to match you with someone. Like my goddamn sister with her friends.
>>723467057
Fatshark just can't do it. Their pace was anemic when they only had Vermintide to support and it's only gotten worse since. Tangible CONTENT you're talking about takes the longest time to develop.
1. No content - you are either in sandy outer hive or in manufactorum or in manufactorum but snowy or in some tunnels or in some tunnels with shit on walls. Vermintide 1 had a more diverse map pool
2. Randoms either run in a tight pack in front of me and I get left behind exploring the maps and all or they run away alone and die to dogs or catchers or whatever
3. PCs are boring because they have a preset personality type
4. Comissar missions are ass which you can't do with random people without proper communication (like discord or something) and using builds that support each other (some of them are not fun)
>>723467917
Maybe it's because I've been playing these games since Vermintide 1, but that "battle trance" to me is just going through the motions.
swing, push, swing, swing, dodge, swing, dodge, someone went down? block, dodge, block, push, nade at feet, help him up, q, shoot disabler, q, push, swing, dodge, swing
>>723468298 >3. PCs are boring because they have a preset personality type
I assumed being less defined would mean devs could add more classes, but alas. Your options in Darktide are classes rather than characters they were in Vermintide.
>>723453360 >make 10/10 combat, visuals and music >make 0/10 skill trees, itemization, economy >add classic Swedish laziness which means "no content for you even several years after release
Their Skaven games are the same.
Always wondered how it feels to be a highly skilled person that works among complete retards, on my job everyone including me is a incompetent
>>723468697
Should probably add that core gameplay is so good that I wasted like 200 hours on this game on release, despite there being like what, 8 maps?
Maybe it's good that they don't know how to make a game that lasts, because then I'd be wasting thousands of hours on it.
>>723466952
they didn't have money to buy the dude from soad again so instead they got a w*man and dude that can be a jew judging by his last name
bit of a mistake imo innit bruv fr fr no cap
the only part that I remembered was leitmotif from the first game except it doesn't deliver like in SM1. Also the campaing feels overall weaker despite boobius kicking blue chicken in the end which he cannot do in the "i had a line of fire no you didn't" game
>>723468552
also, funnily enough, that is a roadblock for obese sharks for making new classes - you need to pay a whole platoon of VAs in order to do the lines. It's like what music companies did with replacing black orchestras from the 70s and 80s with single narcomaniacs who say nigga muzaphuckabick 50 times in the microphone but backwards
>>723468853
Even after the first rework they're 5/10 at best.
Don't know if they reworked them further, but there's really not much to customize, you peak one of a few playstyles and then pick optimal traits for it.
>>723468962
They reworked them multiple times. It's not perfect but at this point they're solid skill trees. Psyker and Ogryn are much better now because of it.
Remember when shills kept saying that this game will be just as great as VT2 in a couple of years? It's been 3 years now and it still has less content than VT2 did 6 months after release.
>>723453360
I like it, but it's kinda shit compared to vt2. Less everything from maps, enemies, weapons, classes/playstyles, game modes/ways to play, dialogue, bosses. But it looks kinda nice and you can slide/sprint so. Sometimes when I wanna mix it up I'll play some.
>>723470259
Darktide’s last man standing is such a gigantic downgrade from vermintide.
Being the last man in vermintide feels like you’re probably utterly fucked but about to go out in a blaze of glory, while darktide just makes you feel like everyone’s just tapping their feet until you snuff it.
>>723470736
The intention is different. In VT2 you're supposed to be a badass who's hard to take down even when you're all alone. The game WANTS you to clutch.
In Darkturd you're not a hero or a legend in the making enacting a cool action movie scene, you're a reject stuck behind enemy lines in a mission gone wrong and you lost your toughness regen and team auras. The mood isn't supposed to be "you're the last hero and it's your time to shine", it's "things are becoming dire and the enemy is closing in, you're fucked" which admittedly leaves a lot less room for a good musical track.
