His longevity alone puts him in the indie legend bracket. Surviving 30 years in the industry as a solo dev while being able to put food on his family's table is certainly an achievement. A couple years ago he unexpectedly made some real money from a Spiderweb bundle. I believe it was something like $100-120k. Players eagerly asked him how he's going to spent the money, obviously hoping for a long-awaited visual overhaul; but Jeff just said "it's probably going to my daughter's college fund".

Queen's Wish is a completely new trilogy whose first episode came out in 2019. He releases a Geneforge remake between each new QW installment, so QW2 dropped in 2022 then Geneforge 2 - Infestation last year. Afaik there's no ETA for QW3 as we speak.

It's just a different beast in terms of scope and supporting features and it divides the fanbase. Expanding an empire through roaming a huge open-world, reclaiming lost colonies and building up wealth/influence by investing resources is not everybody's cup of tea.

yeah I enjoyed queen's wish. It was at least a different perspective being the imperial/colonial power. Although maybe Avadon covers that.
The base building aspect was too bare bones to be cool though, it was rather disappointing.
It was based not allowing women's liberation in the Rokaj.

Reminder that Vogel lost the fucking source code to Exile games so there's no hope of them getting ported to modern systems, and they are much better games than the subsequent remakes.
The only hope is recreating the campaigns in Blades of Exile, but I don't know if anyone even still works on that project.

The second one is good. You go to a place called the Rokaj where your father is from so there's more of a story reason to care about the people and place. You get presented with some interesting dilemmas - which is half the reason I play his games.
