All art, comes from another realm.
Everyone can perceive that realm in one way or another, but some see it much more clearer, and are able to bring back things from that realm in the form of art to our reality, for others to experience.
This is why art is associated with words like "forms" and "mediums", something in between the realms of reality and creativity.
It's incredibly important to think this way about art, because it helps you understand the artist and what they are trying to create.
So now that we know this about art, we can better understand why remakes tend to be bad.
There's several reasons, but I'm going to chalk them up to a few for brevity.
1) The original artists are not involved. Knowing that some people are more keen to the realm of creativity, if those people are not involved, then their abilities will not be present, and therefore it's possible the project will lack "soul".
2) If the original artists are involved, then it's possible what influences their ability to enter the creative realm is altered in some way. There's a million and one ways that alter the influence, I won't bother listing them.
3) If good artists are chosen, perhaps the original ones, then their abilities might be hindered by people who believe that changes must be made, for a number of reasons, most of them about not offending others or potentially not making enough money.
4) A combination of some or all of the above.
I could make a 12 hour long youtube video about this subject. Maybe I should.
