Seriously, who the fuck thought that multiplayer only game on the Bethesda engine was a good idea? The power to manipulate files and mods is literally a big part of what makes Bethesda games appealing.

If people were able to self-host 76 or play a standalone singleplayer version they would have barely made any money by strongarming people into paying for fallout first and an alt to use as a mule

I think fallout 76 is a fun game sometimes

Fallout 76 has the same average online player count as on release, Fallout 4 is more popular even on consoles.

Armour, weapons, settlement objects - basically anything that requires you to spend money can be ported.
A full port of Fallout 76 is also possible but it would require a tremendous amount of effort.
Ports to New Vegas are also possible but they are not publicly available yet.

back when I played fo76 religiously you could actually mod some stuff and it was all client side
you could fuck up balance by replacing stagger and reload animations with shorter ones for example
do what you will with this information, I don't know if it's still the case. fo76 was a mess from start to finish and I regret ever picking it up.

What engine is ESO on? Hasn't that been doing well enough for itself to warrant continued support and expansions for a decade now.

It's an excellent idea, making it a shitty MMO is not.
Just release an official Skyrim Together with a limited amount of players (I'd say 4-6 max) and support for split screen, and you absolutely monopolize the market of smaller/more intimate multiplayer experiences for 20 years.
