So, what's the point of all these portable PCs/Switch 1/2 when you can smack a 20 dollar controller to your phone?

You need your phone for other shit and can't drain the battery all day everyday. Plus, touch screen controls suck and so do these controllers. It's just nicer having a dedicated gaming handheld.

You need to be able to have an app installed by connecting it.

Then with it any PCs that users have elected to be serving accessed to play games from remotely.

Already a one tap affair. Straight into something or a picture selection. A random good game everybtime unless pressing a button could work.

Phones should have thumbsticks on the screen. And triggers at top and back of phone. Top at least. Face buttons are stupid.

Retroarch not having rom downloads in it also fucks it. Too much fucking around again for new users. Costing worldwide unthinkable hours of wasted time. All to be legal. Passed over by attack by the bad guys. Effectively attacking the innocent themselves.

I'm not poor enough or underage that I need to rape my phone with some rattling gamesaar crap with shoddy buttons just so I won't buy a complete package that's somehow cheaper than your wraparound garbage. Also, phones have zero games worth shit, can't even reliably emulate x86 software twice as old as you (20 years), have terrible thermals and by extension kill their batteries even faster, are missing several critical emulators, are extremely locked down and bloated, about to get dropped by developers in mass come 2026, and their ultra wide aspect ratios are terrible for most purposes.

Most of these phone attatchments suck ass. The sticks are either too small, or have barely any range. Also the over/under switch placement is not optimal for shit like COD Mobile, you're unironically better off using the phone by itself, but preferably you get a real controller + phone clip and wire it to the phone.

Depends on phone, my S24 Ultra has tanked 10 hour flights running Dolphin and Vita3K and didn't drop below 50% battery

You can get controller attachments that are nicer than first party gamepads, namely because of TMR sticks, microswitch D-Pads, programmable back buttons etc

I bought pic related from AliExpress for 15 bucks 3 months ago and it might be the most comfortable, responsive controller I've every day. It's even USB so I don't need to think about charging it and it has chargethrough so I can just keep playing while I take the train to work.

It's fantastic, each press has that subtle little "click" sound when it activates. It's silent as the grave but you feel it as it happens. Oh and no drift on either stick! If I had to add one complaint it's that I'm used to "real" controller stick size and it always takes me an awkward minute to get used to the slightly smaller ones.

Are people really so addicted to devices that the thought of spending 2 hours without entertainment frightens them? Comfort and convenience. I already bought controllers and other attachments but none of them felt good. Heavy, bulky, sometimes laggy. Dedicated handhelds are lighter, more ergonomic, feel better and arent loaded with other apps. Is just for gaming.

I have a Deck. For me it's about being able to game when I'm away from home for a week or two without having to bring my PC, monitor and kbm with me. I sometimes use it on the bed if I don't want to have to sit up too. I think it's genuinely retarded to use it outside.

The answer is that there really isn't a point if you're using Moonlight unless you're regularly on short business trips away from your house since you could've just brought an eGPU and streamed for a short term assignment. I use my backbone and the switch is just permadocked.

The game streaming services over the net are dogshit though. Moonlight and Tailscale even do that better though it's not good enough.
