Anyone can time lyrics to help out! It's easy!

Options:

For this particular site, you paste the lyrics into the text area then click 'Synchronize to music'.

You will be taken to a new page, in here you can load your audio track using the Audio button, and start the playback with the START button.

In order to mark which line is being sang, you need to click on the 'Next Line' button (or spacebar) as the line starts being sung (click upon hearing something, not in anticipation for consistency with others). The lyric in the text area will be highlighted white letting you know the line was tagged.

When you reach the end of the lyrics you posted, the 'Next Line' button should now be replaced with a 'Get File' button which will download the .lrc file to your PC.

Now, I just extract the content by opening the .lrc file with a text editor (even plain Notepad works) and take only the timed lyric lines alongside timestamps and paste them into a new .txt or directly into the Rentry. Some tips if you want to pretty it up:

1. Add an extra [00:00.00] timing to the start of the text, it makes the start of the song clean. See any on the sheet for an example.
2. Delete the website's advertising bit at the end, it breaks nothing to do so.
3. Listen as you time and if the singfag changed lyrics, fix it to what they sang in the text afterwards if you can. Wrong lyrics defeat the point after all.

Pirate a program such as DaVinci Resolve or VEGAS (https://files.catbox.moe/ypn1lk.zip). You can even use Windows Movie Maker if you want. Drop in the singer's track. (I also recommend dropping in the isolated vocals on a separate track to make timing lyrics easier if you want.) Then just add visuals! You can add gameplay footage to the beat; you can copy the existing music video and just add jokes over it; you can do a slideshow of memes; you can do glorified lyric videos; you can incorporate MMD, Blender, and other external programs; you can do anything you want. It's not hard to start downloading footage and dropping it in. You don't need to have musical or artistic skills. You don't need to be able to draw.

found it. imo skits should stay rare because they're too easy to make to spam the album with them. they are a better fit for dlc but they do work on albums, and hey it just so happens the board culture albums are smaller than the other albums this year so we could fit a skit into one.

as long as they are short, and have some iconic sound thing that establishes it as a parody like the commercial jingle or the Law And Order theme sfx, it's probably ok. I personally did the eggman announcement and saw ones this year, and even though they have music behind them I think both are better fits for DLC because they're too long for album skits and not musical enough to be considered songs.

I've had that note about merging "general information" with "Organization" on there since last year, should I just do that?
I've been thinking about adding sections for general tips, helpful software or hardware and etc.
The main thing on my mind is that I should add an explicit guide on how lyric timing works.

Personal favorite is Jockey, just cause Minecraft movie took over memes this year plus Jack Black and STP parody.

I'm not the artist but I want to thank them for taking the time to bring the idea I had to convert pic rel to an album cover with Chicken Jockey, because I fully believe the memes deserves a spotlight and this is "the year" for it. I spent a while searching album covers and this one was perfect and I'm glad the artist thought it was a good idea too.

Even if it's not an actual Album art, does the existence of "Objects" disqualify "Worlds" from getting a different, better album art in the future? Because if so, I would honestly just like it removed entirely.
I never even formally submitted it, I posted it and the textless version because I drew it on a whim because of another anon's comment and then someone threw it on the drive. Hell, I thought that my attempt at the text was awful, which was why I posted the textless version so someone more talented than me could take a swing at it, and I'd hate my dumb little rush-job to disqualify that artwork from future musicals.

If you win then you can provide proof it's yours with the project file or something we can see about withdrawing it, but historically nothing people lack confidence in wins anyway, just by saying you don't want it to win you'll make sure people won't vote for it.

BACK FROM HACK, Jockey, and Introduction to Console War are the most relevant to stuff that happened this year so all get my vote. Ayy Rivals and DOOMEDMAN (forma de ginecomastía) are really well done vidya covers. Anti voting Imageboard despite it being a great topic because it deserves a better background. Screen Gal Dream Gal has beautiful art but the character is originally non vidya so I don't feel great about voting for it. BACK FROM HACK is my favourite overall, great concept and beautiful art. to be fair her cartoon design is entirely different, the red and white version is exclusively from the game and arguably not even the same character between the different voices/personality/design. if we had 3 slots and like 10 vidya arts I would use this logic to not vote for it, but we have 4 slots and there's only like 6 or 7 options that really work for Vidya depending on how you slice it. entirely personally, I think "exclusive vidya design from a current year vidya game but the IP has non-vidya stuff too" is better than vidya getting something like Fippy Bippy or Imageboard, even if I like both of those arts too, because they scream board culture.

I don't believe that's true, and there's wiggle room on more than a few of these and making judgement calls on "X can only be on the poll for Y" is cringe. I'll Break The Oath is easy to call Industry but can also absolutely work for Vidya if it has to because the art is filled with direct references to games.
