Eh, it's fine.
Just very boring, by the numbers and forgettable. I played through this game twice and outside of the Strogg section I barely remember anything about it.
I don't even remember the guns.

In terms of multiplayer the maps were less competitive and it didn't run at 300fps like quake 3 at the time. Neither did doom 3 but doom 3 is peak 1v1 fps

I thought japanese language packs was a japanese publisher thing in order to have price parity with other platforms >>723470562

It’s a dumb selling point in Steam. This literally never happens outside of Steam. All consoles come with language text or voice (sometimes together) on popular countries that sell well. Hoyoverse games have popular languages and voice added and you didn’t pay anything. Indie games also sometimes show language options, you never pay for language options.
Steam is the only store that makes you pay for language preferences.

How convenient that you mention F.E.A.R. since I'm playing it right now and it definitely is way too overrated. The game is good, yes, but way too repetitive and longer than it really should, and then comes Extraction Point teasing me with supernatural enemies at the beginning only for those to be counted with one hand while I'm once again dealing with more (literally) copy-pasted soldiers. Also my two partners are dead after they survived the whole first game because yay shock value deaths.

I never got the hate for Q4. I enjoyed it. I think it just came out in the wrong year. People were all over halo and other multiplayer shooters, so a long single player shooter felt outdated.
