Most of the art I've seen it spit out is equal to the tumblr-tier quality of modern crash/spyro. Normal people play Doom with the default settings in the latest official commercial source port. Carmack's glboom-based iOS Doom port had texture filtering and the usual shitty lighting all accelerated Doom ports had before shader-based lighting. I'm not sure if it's what Microsoft currently sells in the App Store anymore though. Doom + Doom II doesn't though.

Those are just two very low hanging fruits. I think you could have a really interesting discussion about this, comparing how AI handles individual artists and styles, but at this point I don't think people will ever stop being dumb about the obvious high quality of AI art.
