It's cliche but it's telling when someone goes into a game and expects to like it but ends up getting let down. It's better when they're honest about the game sucking then trying to convince themselves it's actually some kind of misunderstood masterpiece.

This is a consequence of AVGN and Nostalgia Critic being popular during early Youtube, leading to hating on games being the default option for reviews since it sticks to the formula.

I sympathize with the reviewer in this case, having used the same setup to avoid just flat out saying its a retarded baby game for fucking retards like them I didn't ever want to play in the first place and only did so out of a desire for their happiness. A reviewers concern however is only click money and their fate is worse than death being bound to it. There is nothing more pitiable than a game review youtuber, especially in this age of games so shitty they could be used in ludovico technique conditioning.

I did this with YIIK, it's a game I was actually looking forward to before release. Then when the game turned out to be a bomb and laughingstock, I had to see how bad it was for myself.

Mainly it was the pre-release trailers, artstyle, and music. I was a big fan of Earthbound back then and yes, I did actually play the Mother trilogy and it was cool seeing another "RPG set in real life" kind of game. I really hate that the game ended up sucking as much as it did.

The trailers did a pretty good job of making the game look interesting enough to hype up enough people to get the game a demo in actual physical stores, I'll say that much. Although a lot of those locations in the first traailer weren't even in the final game, though same made a comeback in the IV update

You do understand that opinions on video games are subjective, right? Just because someone didn't enjoy a game doesn't mean that it's some irredeemable pile of trash. people can like and hate different games for different reasons and the only thing that makes your criticism valid and respected is the logic behind it. Still that doesn't make that game a shitty one, it just didn't appeal to you.

it's done to keep your attention as your brain is drawn to the constant movement, it's not good for people who are hard of hearing since the shit is AI generated 100% of the time all the time and so the subtitles are entirely incorrect and incomprehensible, it's just key jangling for e-toddlers
