Because Pokemon has a weird hold on the "funny dog that grows alongisde you" niche. Digimon doesn't have that because of the digivolution trees and the petsim design, Palworld doesn't have that because Pals are often tools first, Megaten doesn't have that because demons ARE just custom weapons you're supposed to replace and iterate upon.

A pokemon competitor needs to target empathy and design over challenge. The only weakness I see here is that you have no actual skills, so an enemy front with 800+ power and capped speed can overtake you with corner/straightaway skills, PoC, escape artist, fast-paced, unrestrained, etc if you can't keep the lead or your unique triggers too soon.

Update on tests with this. She's 5/6 successful blocks in public rooms now, every time she manages to block the front who uses angling late has lost to other umas in the pack. In the race she failed, there were about 5 fronts and she got boxed at the start, her minimal power is probably to blame here, a proper blocker needs 1000+ preferably capped+S turf. But distance aptitude doesn't seem to matter.

4 speed cards and two stam/or super creek + strong power card with stam bonus. Then you inherit power sparks or some stam sparks if you need to. Then you'd put red shift and shooting to victory on her, maybe triumphant pulse if you can squeeze it in. Some abilities like ramp-up/highlander might help as well
