Several years before the White-Gold Concordat was signed, ALL Imperial forces in Hammerfell were ordered to abandon the province to the Dominion so they could retreat and protect Cyrodiil. Most of the forces in Hammerfell would have been local conscripts, so the Empire was essentially telling them to abandon their homeland to get raped by elves so they could instead defend the Empire's homeland. ONE Imperial general allowed "a great deal" of one of his Legions to stay behind to defend Hammerfell. Keep in mind, this was several years before Hammerfell seceded, and if it weren't for the Empire the soldiers would have been there, anyways. It wasn't Cyrod troops staying behind, but Imperials don't make up a large portion of the Legions in the provinces.

Several years later, when the Concordat was signed, the Empire did nothing to help and the portion of that Legion might not have even been alive anymore. But Hammerfell win. This is after Redguards and Nords carried the entire Great War on their back and are the sole reason the Empire and the Cyrods survived. It's meant to be a huge betrayal that the Nords and Redguards did all of the work but then were the ones that were explicitly sold out and fucked over by the treaty (Redguards losing half their land, Nords losing their religion). If it weren't for the Empire, Hammerfell would have been in much better condition in the first place and much more capable of defending its territory.

And this is all capped off by saying that the only account of this Legion existing is from a legatus who is is explicitly biased and coping about the Great War. He says incredibly opinionated shit about Hammerfell because he's seething that they seceded than won. He sees them as traitors and tries multiple times to minimize their accomplishments.

Alduin literally eats mundus, which is the only apparent battleground for him and his dragons. Alduin is highly tied to Akatosh, with all of his paradoxical bullshit. Yokudans explicitly avoided the end of the Kalpa, and the star signs are implicated therein.
Yet, this world and its history is fundamentally tied to the broader cosmology. Lorkhan and his heart, the towers, the aedra and daedra, etc. That seemingly precludes a cycle of rebirth that was only for mundus; it would have to be the whole setting, everything within the overlap of anu and padomay. Afaik there's a one or two things which say that explicitly as well.

Obviously it's deep TES lore so everything is paradoxical and rarely so clear-cut and literal, but Kalpas just feel like they're a step too far. Instead of fitting into the setting in multiple ways, it feels like they don't fit in any.
