Someone in a higher-level position, such as a CEO, did this to Jill and Claire. They sidelined Jill with RE5 and made her into a hissing freak, then offered us a dlc as an afterthought. After RE5 we never saw Jill again, and when we did get Jill. Capcom gave use an awful remake and a shitty face. Then, in Death Island she doesn't age and is cut out of RE 9. Then we're given a pity crumb with the Nikke collaboration.

With Claire, the voice actor dilemma pushed Capcom to admit to their bad actions. Capcom then created the illusion of bringing back Alyson Court only to let her go in a fake out. When Remake 2 arrived and many noticed the face change, Capcom grew even angrier. Even in the Nikke collab Claire is not even a high rank for a main protagonist. They believe that Jill and Claire fans should tolerate anything, even if people speak up. Capcom will change the characters' appearances/traits and sideline them if you don't like it.

One of the reasons Jill and Claire are not visible at all. While those who are pushed, such as Ada and Rebecca, will receive unbiased treatment. I am surprised it took so ling for fans to notice this, and I am curious if Capcom will continue to sideline these two women once we stop noticing.

Chris and Claire have nothing, unless I have overlooked something. Now, after Death Island came out and there was a backlash against Jill age, reports circulated that she was cut from RE 9.

Capcom understands how protective Jill fans are of the character. So they tread softly with the disrespect, but it's there and requires a keen eye to detect it. They will only do this to Jill occasionally because if they start treating her like Claire. Then fans will see a pattern of two female characters being overlooked as the bias for Ada and Rebecca persists. So they make Claire fans look like complainers while pretending everything is fine. If Jill fans continue to call them out, they will further sideline her while using them for interaction.

Yeah I love it. Hearing a enemy, but not being able to see them and gathering the courage to walk forward. The enemy placements all feel like a part of the level design. Like you can see the intentions of the devs when you look at a room. And having a door/transition animation makes the experience. You don't know what you're walking into. It's kind of like when you adapt a manga into an anime and you lose the value of the Page Turn. The restrictions have made for a much more fun experience. Claire's face has never been consistent to begin with, just like Chris', because she appears all throughout a 10-years period where technology and execs came and go and all had a different influence on her. only Leon and Ada gained a definitive HDface thanks to RE4.
for Claire her first "official" HD face was in the first movie which they ultimately deemed was obscure enough to retcon her, hence the hag face in Rev2. but then she had a younger face in the OVA because it was supposed to be set earlier.
and finally for Death Island they came up with that idea of the protags never aging and retconned away all the "old-looking" faces (except Chris' because of RE5/6), so Claire suddenly got much younger than in Rev2, and Rebecca also got younger compared to Vendetta.

I really like being able to see the map at all times, it helps the pacing of the game tremendously imo. It's a shame none of the other classic REs or Silent Hill games got a similar treatment on the DS.

That's personal preference though, Classic Rebirth is probably the objective best way to play it.
